Chapter 34 - Share and Care

Tiara's Pov

We reach home after sunset. He parks the car while I ask him, "How am I supposed to take this inside? What if someone questions me? What will I say? And it's heavy too." He smiles at me, and I narrow my eyes at him, asking, "What?" He laughs and says, "I love it when you ramble and rant." I reply, "So you like me worried?" This time, he narrows his eyes at me and says, "Seriously! Let's not go there, darling. If anybody asks anything, just tell them the truth, and I will carry it," he says while getting out of the car.

I get out too and help him get the teddy out. When it's out, I take it from his hand and say, "I can carry it myself. Let me, please! And we are not telling anybody any truth." He tries to get it out of my hold but fails. He says, "Either you give me the teddy, or I will pick you up with the teddy and get inside."

My cheeks flush a deep red at his words, but I tighten my grip on the teddy, determined to carry it myself. He gets closer, and I step back while a giggle escapes, surprising us both. He smirks at me and says, "You like it, don't you? You want me to carry you inside, hm?" Suddenly, it feels hot here, but I don't give up and reply, "Certainly not. I can walk by myself, and I will!" I start to walk towards the house, but he strides towards me with quick steps.

More giggles escape me, and he laughs, trying to catch me as I start to run. Suddenly, we both stop, aware of the fact that we're home. He smirks mischievously and says, "Is this a kink of yours, sweetheart? Should I explore it more? We can explore it together, you know." My eyes widen, and my mouth drops open, but then I narrow my eyes at him and hit him in the chest as he moves closer. "Shut up, Akshit. Have some shame. We are home."

He pulls me by the waist and says, "I was just asking. You should be open with me about these things, Tiara. After all, I am your forever." My cheeks flush even deeper, but I can't help but smile at his playful persistence. 𝘖𝘧 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦. I decide to tease him and say, "Who says you are my forever? Your delusions are getting dangerous, Mr. Yadav."

He smiles at me very politely and says, "Oh, it's the reality, 𝑺𝒖𝒏𝒇𝒍𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓. You don't want me to commit a murder, do you?" I slip out of his hold and start walking towards the entrance, humming 'Mama, I'm in Love with a Criminal.' He laughs and follows me inside, his laughter echoing through the quiet evening. We reach our respective room and get inside to get fresh.

After freshening up, I move out of my room with a book in hand and sit on the sofa by the balcony. Despite my attempts to focus on reading, my mind drifts to thoughts of Akshit. The more I tried to dislike him, the more I found myself drawn to his thoughtfulness. I smile at the memory just as his door opens. He steps out, wearing a white cotton t-shirt and grey trousers, his hair still damp from a shower, holding a laptop. 𝘏𝘦 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘴 𝘩𝘰𝘵. Seriously?! We haven't even kissed yet, and my mind is already going there. He yawns and sits beside me, asking, "What are you reading?"

"The Silent Patient," I reply.
He scrunches his face in confusion. "What's it about?"
"I don't know," I sigh. "I'm starting it today. A friend suggested it and said it's a mystery thriller, but I'm skeptical."

He nods, leaning back and yawning again. Wanting to be a bit thoughtful myself, I ask, "Do you want tea or coffee?"
He smiles. "Tea. Without sugar, Tiara special."
I throw him a mock-annoyed look as I get up. "I don't do it on purpose. I'll be back with the tea."

As I head downstairs, I notice Akshit following me. I smile to myself and say nothing. We both enter the kitchen, and as I start to light the gas, he asks, "Where is everyone? I know Baba is at the office and Maa is at Kaki's house, but where are the others?"
