Chapter 13 - The Wedding

Tiara's Pov

Due to the upcoming wedding, I got in a situation of having to take leave from my work. Typically, I have the flexibility to work from home, but this special occasion demanded my full attention and presence. It was a rare instance where I had to prioritize personal commitments over professional obligations.

Today is an intense day; it's the sangeet function. The air is buzzing with excitement, and I can feel the energy coursing through the house. We all have been practicing our performances, ensuring all of it is up to the mark. Especially I made sure Dhruv and Nitya did their part the best way. The only absence that's noticeable is Akshit and Aarav's, as they had to urgently attend to some work-related matters.

After practice which was basically touch up of the performances, we head to our respective rooms to get ready. The sound of laughter and chatter fills the air as guests begin to arrive, adding to the festive atmosphere. In my room, I take a moment to freshen up before deciding on what to wear. After much consideration, I settled on a blue lehenga, its intricate embroidery adding a touch of elegance to my look.

As I slip into my outfit and carefully style my hair, I can't help but feel a sense of excitement building within me. After getting ready, I decided to go into Shruti's room. As I entered, my eyes immediately fell upon my best friend, adorned in a stunning brown lehenga that complemented her beauty in every way. "Wow" escaped my lips involuntarily, unable to contain my awe at her appearance.

Our time together in her room quickly turned into a session of compliments and hyping each other up. With a final glance in the mirror to ensure everything is perfect, we both make our way downstairs, ready to leave for the venue.

Akshit's Pov:

Even on the day of the sangeet, Aarav and I found ourselves caught up in the work demands of our office. The case we were handling seemed to grow more complex with each passing day, and to add to our workload, we were tasked with managing a new criminal case as well.

After what felt like an eternity of navigating through legal documents and court proceedings, we finally managed to wrap up our work and make our way home. As we stepped into the bustling atmosphere, the sounds of music and laughter greeted us, serving as a contrast to the seriousness of our day.

Hurrying to our respective rooms, Aarav and I quickly freshened up, eager to join in the chaos. I opted for a dark blue kurta, a choice that felt both comfortable and appropriate for the occasion. With every button fastened and every fold smoothed, I took a moment to admire my reflection in the mirror, mentally preparing myself for the evening ahead.

Descending the stairs, I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief wash over me. However, as I reached the bottom of the staircase, my attention was immediately drawn to Tiara and Shruti making their way down as well. And in that moment, time seemed to stand still as I laid eyes on Tiara.

She looked breathtakingly beautiful in her blue lehenga, huh matching matching. I found myself momentarily speechless, unable to tear my gaze away from her radiant presence. It was as if the entire world is conspiring against my motives to avoid her at any cost. 'You can admire beauty, it's fine akshit', I said to myself.

As Tiara approached, Maa, performed a traditional ritual, taking kajal from her eyes and placing it behind Tiara and Shruti's ears. It was a gesture meant to ward off any negative energy and protect them from any harm. Witnessing this ritual only served to deepen my admiration for Tiara, as I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at the love and respect shown to her by those around her.

The moment Maa left from there, Rony seized the opportunity to engage himself in conversation with tiara, his laughter echoing in the air. Chatting and laughing as if they were some long lost best of friends. Exhaustion coursed through me, so I excused myself from the scene.
