-Grayson-

Monday had finally reared its ugly head and I had finally stopped puking and my fever had been gone for over 48 hours. To my mom that meant I was finally able to go back to school. It's not that I don't like school, but who wakes up early on a Monday morning and thinks "yay school"?

I slowly climbed down my ladder and started rummaging through my closet for something to wear. Maybe today would be a good day to wear a sweater? Maybe a t-shirt? Oh! Leather!

I reached deep into the trenches of my closet and pulled out my favorite leather jacket. I think this is the one that used to belong to my brother, or maybe he took that one back when he left for collage? It was a jet black with just a little bit of gloss when you held it to the light in the right way. I tossed it onto my couch and started searching for pants and a shirt that would match.

I guess it's a good thing I always wake up an hour and a half earlier than I need to, it takes me forever to decide on something to wear. I'm such a girl. I was stuck between a red V-neck or a grey hoodie. I shrugged and took them both along with some black skinny jeans, now all I have to do is pray that my sister isn't in the shower and that I could find my black boots.

I stopped outside my bedroom and listened for a moment, I didn't hear the shower downstairs running. That meant I'd have plenty of hot water! I crept down the hall and into the bathroom and started stripping. I'm the kind of person who takes showers that give you third degree burns, don't ask me why I just do. I scrubbed my fur and washed my hair for the first time in a couple of days. When I was finished I dried off and threw some conditioner in my hair, gotta keep it soft.

I quickly dressed and looked myself over in the mirror, this outfit looked good! Like really good, I might've just found a new favorite. I went back into my room and grabbed my phone and keys, before I left I checked the time. 4:43, that's a new record. I guess I have some time to run and get breakfast now.

I sent a quick text to my mom so she'd know that I was leaving and then headed outside to my car. I pulled out of our driveway and started to think of breakfast places that'd be open this early. Starbucks opens at 6, but I might be late to school, McDonalds is always open, but that place is disgusting, Denny's definitely would, but the only one close to me is in the ghetto.

My neighborhood always looked so pretty at this time of year, it was the border between Winter and Spring. But of course, when you live in Texas you can experience all seasons in one week but I guess this week it decided to be Winter. Gives me an excuse to wear leather so I'm happy. It has yet to snow and I highly doubt it will, but the trees still shed their leaves and the frost they had collected could pass for snow, at least until you got close.

I made my way out of my neighborhood and towards my friend Miranda's house. Knowing her, she'd probably be up as well. Miranda was basically the "Queen Bee" of the school. Sure she seemed like a bitchy, stuck up raven from far away, but she's actually really sweet and kind. Her two underlings, as I like to call them, are Isabel, or Bel as she likes to be called, and Ashlie, spelled with an "ie" because she's different from the other Ashly's. I guess there were too many "Isabel's" too, why else would she go by "Bel". She doesn't even spell it with two L's!

I'm lucky Miranda doesn't go by some stupid, "unique", nickname like the other two. But she doesn't have to I guess, because she's the Queen. Even some of the Seniors at our school acknowledged her "claim to the throne".

I pulled up in front of Miranda's house and shot her a text. Hopefully she'd be ready to go. To my luck, she came out of her front door seconds later and climbed into my passenger seat.

"You totally read my mind, I was just about to text you and tell you to come get me," she laughed as her seatbelt clicked.

"Where do you want to eat?" my phone said as I chuckled a little.

"I know it's gross but it's the only place open right now," she replied, "so McDonald's."

I nodded and made a quick U-turn before driving off down the road. The McDonalds wasn't too far away.

I parked and the two of us went into the "restaurant". I honestly felt like I needed another shower just from being in the greasy air. Miranda must have felt the same way.

"Bad day to wear designer," she whispered to me.

I laughed a little at that. Well, I didn't laugh, only hot air came out. You get the idea.

Miranda and I were twinning today. Well I guess you could say we were twinning, she was wearing black jeans, a red crop top and a leather jacket like me. The only difference was that hers was brown. Miranda was never fond of the color black, but being a raven meant that it'd just blend with her feathers.

We both ordered then went to sit down. We eventually got over the grossness of the place and ate our cheap, very unhealthy, cardboard tasting food in silence.

Which is really the only way I can eat.
