BUT! I thought you guys might want a bit of headcanons of mine so it makes a bit of sense if I add random stuff into my one-shots!! 🤩
But I'll put this at the beginning of the book, so sorry if that doesn't make sense to the few chapters after it, but its for the newer readers in a way ig??☹️
I'll do one for sanemi when I find time to, we'll not time but more motivation, Y'know? 🦅

Anyways, I'm finished with my rant and now I'll slap these headcanons here for you guys!! 🫃

~Sometimes, he gets in a mood that makes him straight reckless and aggressive towards demons, and instead of killing them in one strike, he tends to make it very painful and slow before stomping the demons skull. (SORRY IF THATS GRAPHIC)
~Hates being touched and will panic if anyone does so, even Sanemi. (He can tolerate it if it's hand holding or a kiss. Sometimes, he's able to warm up to it a lot and be able to withstand for longer times and more intimate).
~Obviously has depression (sh sometimes, but goes to Sanemi or Mitsuri when he feels like it most of the time) and inferiority complex.
~Has food trauma from seeing his sisters corpse get eaten by maggots, so it takes him a while to work up courage to eat meat.
~He likes to stare off into space a lot, be it the pond at his estate, the sky, or sanemis scars. He's always looking somewhere.
~He's VERY alert at night involuntarily. Nearly every night staying up because of his brain being on overdrive thinking there's a demon when it's just his floor creaking.
~He trains himself to the point of passing out. Training his body and speed during most hours of the day, then his sword skills and senses at night.
~His right hand has a bit of a twitching problem from training too much. Either his fingers will randomly tap a couple of times, his hand will spasm for a second before going back to normal, or the worst being his hand clenching so hard it bruises. (He often holds something when busy to try and keep it less noticeable).
~He has an obsession with popping his or others joints, especially fingers. It's unclear whether it's the noise, feeling, or reaction the other person makes that pleases him, but he gets super giddy.
~Hands. He really likes hands. Sanemis especially. He likes textures of people's hands. Even with his aversion to touch, he really really likes his hair being brushed through with peoples fingers or someone else brushing his hair.
~He has awfully cold skin to where he feels almost like a dead body. He's mostly healthy besides the paleness and coldness and his other issues though.
~He raises fish at his estate. Be it koi in his pond or a little goldfish in his room, he adores his fish and tries to take the best care possible. Sometimes if you walk by his estate, you can see him just letting fish eat little pellets from his hand.
~He's got this one black cat that roams around his place, inside and out. Giyu clearly doesn't care that some random cat is in his house. He takes care of it for some reason.
~Whenever it starts storming outside, he'll bolt out the door and go sit on his veranda and watch the rain. He doesn't care if he gets wet or sick. He just really likes the rain. Sometimes even enough to just fall asleep right then and there.
~If someone asks what he's doing, instead of answering verbally, he'll just point at it or pick it up and hold it up to/offer it to the person asking. ( For example, if he sees a bug on the ground, he'll just point. If there's a cool leaf, he'll give it to the person)
~He gets really excited over shiny things like fancy hairpins and jewelry. There's clearly something in that gem or metal that gets a STRONG wave of dopamine to his brain and puts a grin on his face. (Which is the reason Sanemi buys so many hairpins and charms for him.)
~He still has Tsutakos bow. Occasionally, he'll go back to his old house in his village but makes sure to sneak in so the people that sent him off won't try to do it again.
~He also still has sabitos and his masks, keeping them in his nightstand by his sisters' things.
~He will go into a panic attack if he loses the bow or the masks after a few minutes of losing them.
~He really doesn't like talking, going nonverbal for days or weeks until someone finally breaks him out of it.
~He does everything silently. Walking, running, jumping, you name it. It's silent.
~He gave Sanemi a tip on his insomnia to help him sleep better. (THIS CAN ALSO BE A TIP FOR ANYOEN CAUSE IT WORKS??)
Anyways, breathe in until lungs fill, that's 1. Exhale until lungs empty, that's 2. Repeat.
~When Giyu does his breathing to sleep, he's flustered, nervous, anxious, scared, or his throat is dry, his throat will make a small clicking noise after each inhale and exhale.
~One thing that gets to him is compliments. He's all sweet and happy after a few or just light hearted ones, but if you get too deep with the compliments, he'll start bawling his eyes out because he apparently isn't used to real compliments.
~He has absolutely horrible relations with mental hospitals. If you just mention one, he'll get a little nervous at most. But if you say that he's crazy and needs to go to one, he'll either breakdown or have a panic attack.
~He either panics or starts crying when someone yells at him a lot. He can hide it about 97% of the time, but if it's finally too much he'll break quickly.
~Giyu really really likes Gyomei. He thinks he's kinda like a dad since he never had one besides Ubayashiki and Urokodaki. But the one thing about Gyomei that scares the absolute shit out of him is his hands. Giyu really likes hands, but the sheer size of Gyomeis hands reminds him of the hand demon that killed Sabito, so he panics a little when Gyomei touches him, especially when it's his head.
