Solace's POV, 5:28 A.M.

"Solly, get up! You're gonna be the reason we miss the plane, and Ma is too noisy for me to stand." My sister, Serenity, hollered as she dragged me off of my bed.

"Okay, Ni, you can get off of me though. I'm obviously fuckin' awake." I groaned as I tried to avoid rubbing my eyes.

I had just done everything shower, my lashes, and everything else the night before. My family was going to Texas for a family vacation, and to look for a house.

I truly wasn't looking forward to moving from Seattle to Hubbard, especially if I didn't know anyone there. I sucked it up and got off the floor, moving to put on the outfit I had set out the night before.

"Always fuckin' putting her hands on me." I grumbled as I put on my clothes.

Afterward, I took my bonnet off and moved to my vanity to do my edges since I had my hair in boho knotless. I had to rush, so I couldn't do my usual. I grabbed the rest of my supplies, like lipgloss and liner, and ran downstairs to put them in my suitcase.

"Hey, Mom." I said, out of breath from running.

"Solace Elise Harper, slow down! You're gonna trigger your asthma, and I ain't takin' you to no damn hospital!" My mother called after me.

I winced at the use of my full name, I hated it. That woman was Kendra Harper herself, the only thing that could scare me. She taught me how to play basketball, which was another thing I was scared of losing.

I loved my basketball team like I loved my family, 'cause it was my family. I guess they just expected me to find a new family when we moved in a month.

"Soll, you okay?" Serenity had asked me, hand resting on my shoulder.

I hadn't even realized that I spaced out next to my suitcase, but I just nodded and put the essentials in there before rushing back off to my room.

I hurriedly grabbed my purse, putting an extra lip gloss and liner in there alongside my AirPods. I grabbed my phone off of the charger and selected a song to play on the road. I chose Friends by Laundry Day since it fit the mood of today the best.

"Solly, we're leaving! Hurry up if you don't wanna get left for the week!" My father yelled up the steps.

"I know Dad! I had to get my phone!" I shouted as I began to walk out of my room. This was the most horrified I had ever been for a trip.

I walked down the steps and out the front door, walking in front of Serenity to get to the way back of my father's Dodge. We were leaving Ma's Cadillac in the driveway since we didn't need two cars for this.

We only used the two car method when Serenity and I got into an argument with each other and my parents didn't wanna chance us whooping each other's asses.

My dad was going to leave his truck in the parking lot of the airport, which was a dangerous game, but he said he didn't have anything in it. I shrugged and dozed off.

Nelson's POV, 9:30 A.M.

I rubbed the sleep from my eyes as I woke up from my nap. I was pretty sure that I had to get ready for a game, so I got dressed to go practice beforehand.

I went outside to my basketball hoop and got started, honestly hoping to get my game up at least a little before I went out onto the court. I looked across the street and saw a girl playing basketball, too.
