The ship took nearly 4 months to reach the Cerulean Kingdom after several stops along the way. I spent most of my time alone doing the magic exercises my master had taught me.

Sometimes whenever someone would try to talk to me I would shake up a little and send them away, but then I would feel guilty and sad. Other times I wouldn't mind talking with someone but at those times it seems no one would come near me.

It was an odd feeling, like no one wanted to talk to me when I wanted to talk to someone... I wonder what this is called?

As I wandered the ship finally docked at a place a short bit aways from the city of Fusiona. The docks had a simplistic look to them as if they were easily and cheaply built, no, the construction wasn't bad. More like it could be quickly built if it was taken out by a large wave.

As I followed the path that led to the city, its surrounding area looked more like a park than a sea port. Though it seemed like my curiosity had been taken notice by some of the workers.

"It doesn't look much like a sea port does it kid."

"..."

I had tried to talk but for some reason the words just got caught in my throat.

"Yeah, around every 20 to 30 years we get a huge sea quake that creates this huge wave that crashes down destroying everything in the area. That's why everything is further back, and this area was turned into a park. But don't you worry we have procedures in place to protect everyone. If you hear a loud siren just head on back to the city for your own protection, it's just down this road and up a hill so it's safe from the flooding."

I still couldn't get the words out of my mouth but I bowed in thanks and went on my way.

The park was pretty nice, it had patches of sand where some kids played but it was mostly a grass field. There were also a few small trees that looked like they were planted in the past 5 years or so to make the place look nicer.

"This would be a nice place to relax and train my magic," I thought to myself as I saw some people doing just that. Wait, actually it was one person who was practicing with magic while the others were training their muscles and fighting skills.

I wondered if they were adventurers, maybe? But that group over there in armor looked like something else. Oh, could they be the knights I heard of? I had never seen them before.

The knights were like a unified force acting as one as they marched in step with each other as they went from one end of the field to the other before going over a small hill out of sight.

My master told me that to join the knights is to devote yourself to the kingdom, and that you wouldn't have the freedom that adventurers have. You would be expected to serve and follow a chain of command and go into battle whether you wanted to or not. You couldn't just turn down a job and you didn't have your own choice of job like an adventurer would.

Apparently there were some perks but it came at the cost of one's freedom. Adventurers could stay in one place or go to other cities or countries if they wished. They could even take on dungeons and keep the drops from monsters that spawned inside.

I decided it would be best to be an adventurer, free to come and go as I pleased and work whenever I wanted and not be on a schedule decided on by someone else. But first I'd need to register at the guild which would be my first destination.

It took awhile but I finally made it to the entrance of Fusiona City. It was a massive gate larger than I expected. A carriage three times its height and four times its width could fit into it. The sheer size amazed me, why would they need a gate so big?
