Oblivious

Mall day

We pulled into the mall parking lot and got out heading toward the large building I was suddenly very aware of my clothing, i felt very exposed and when we got in the mall and I kept looking at everyone trying to see if I was being looked at. I kept noticing guys staring at me, probably wondering wtf I was wearing, we got to a salon and my mom walked up to the desk, "I made appointments for Vanessa, Nicole and Emma"

Yes of course have a seat it'll just be a few minutes, a few minutes passed and I was the first one called over, led to the back of the salon the lady instructed me to lay back and began shampooing my hair, and then to the blow dryer we went, I was so relaxed I honestly didn't notice when she started washing my feet, she was doing all sorts of crap down there I could tell but I just laid back eyes closed half asleep. Until I actually fell asleep, when I woke up, the salon lady burst into laughter, " sleep good sweetie"Yeah I guess" I replied. "Aha well I'm almost all done just finishing up"

Well I guess I'm pretty stupid for not knowing this was going to happen, but my hair if it was cut at all it was only a trim, and little blonde streaks of highlights where put in.

I went to fiddle with my hands out of nervousness and felt my finger tips come up short of touching each other, I looked down and seen my painted a light shade of pink finger nails and my toe nails where painted blue with little flowers drawn on them. I just sat there holding back tears while she finished up and then my mom came to collect me. I tried my best to say a genuine sounding thank you to salon lady and then we where out of there.

My mom and Nicole loved talking about how "pretty" I look, and how the boys are going to be drooling over me, it made me gag a little just hearing that.

My day got a lot better when mom lead me and my sister into apple, she said I've been so good lately and I need a phone so she can contact me when I'm out. "But Emma we are getting you a case right away and I want you to promise it stays on"

I agreed my stomach turning in excitement, we took a look around and I picked a black iphone 15, my mom told us she would be a minute sorting it all out with the cashier so me and my sister continued playing around with all the phones, she was handed a bag and then out we walked. "You'll have to wait tell we are done at the mall to have it okay sweetie, I ordered you a SIM card online a few days ago and it's suppose to arrive today"
We did a lot of walking in and out of all sorts of stores but we barely bought anything else, besides a clear backed phone case with a white rubber border.

Mom announced she was hungry and we headed to the food court.

We got some Chinese food to go and got back in the car, my sister played hollaback girl, I opened my food eager to eat as I was pretty hungry and, every time I took a bite I got a glimpse of my nails.

Aunt Julie's name popped up on the dash and ringing took over the speakers, mom answered the phone.

"Hey Vanessa how's your day going"

"Fantastic me and the girls just had a salon day, and got some Chinese after oh And Emma go a new phone"

"Ooo what a treat, well I won't hold you up but the boys really enjoyed hanging out with Emma, they work so much they don't really get to hangout with anyone around there age besides each other. They where wondering if she could come around again tomorrow night.

"Of course she can I'll drop her off around 5:30 yeah?"

"That works great okay I'll let you ladies go"

By the time we got home my food was finished

I was basically bouncing off the walls in excitement for my mom to hand me my new phone, we walked in the house and I just paced back and forth in front of her waiting, it was like torture, finally after what felt like forever but was only like 2 minutes, she reached into the bag and pulled out my phone. Annnnd of course she got it in pink instead of black, then I sat there watching her put the SIM card in and then the case on, which did nothing to hide the colour.

She handed it to me and i said thanks mommy and ram straight up to my room eager to set it up. I started setting it up and downloading my favourite apps, I started getting texts from people my mom was giving my number to. "Hey this is so and so"

Nicole came in my room and told me she deleted my old Snapchat account so I'd have to make a new one and mom said I have to let her do it.

I considered just not using Snapchat but that wasn't an option either apparently because Nicole grabbed my phone outta my hands and downloaded the app, she created an account with the username Emma293 and then she made me a Bitmoji which of course was a girl with brown hair blue eyes, and then she added herself, and handed me back my phone and left my room.

Playing around on it for awhile, I got a text from a new number "hey this is Noah, what's your Snapchat I'll give it to carter and chase"
So I texted him my new Snapchat and of course he poked fun at the username and then I got added by all 3 of them within a few minutes.

They made a group chat, and then asked me if I was coming over tomorrow, we talked for a while but the conversation ran dry and eventually we where just sending snaps back and forth. They kept sending me pictures of them working, videos of them horsing around.
Eventually I fell asleep while snapping them.
