Later That Day
Virginia Beach, VASmoke filtered through the atmosphere as Giovanni puffed from a blunt. His mind was going a mile a minute, and weed was the one thing that helped put him at ease. He needed it in this moment, especially with everything going on.
It was one thing to be a target himself, but to have someone close to him have a mark on their head is another thing. He knew the Black Diamonds' leader; he was someone he played basketball with back in high school. He just couldn't understand why someone from their gang would want his head on a platter.
"Mr. Hendrix?" He looked up to see his body guard, Dallas. "That night from the Black Diamonds is here. You sure you wanna see him?"
"Bring him in."
Dallas nodded his head and went to retrieve Giovanni's guest. He contacted him after Ana left the club to have a chat with him. He couldn't risk having any beef with anyone, especially when his father had things lined up—shit that couldn't be messed up because of little street beef.
"Yo, Gio, what's good?" Rashad, the leader of the Black Diamonds, approached the table. He wore a smug smile on his face as he seated himself across from Giovanni.
"Sup?" Giovanni sent a head nod his way. He looked at Dallas and signaled for him to make himself scarce.
"What's this about?"
"Don't play stupid with me." Giovanni stated with a frown. "One of your guys tried to catch me slippin'."
"Oh, that." Rashad propped his arm on the table and leaned back in his seat. "I heard somebody saved yo ass."
"What's up with that shit? We don't have beef." Giovanni was confused, but he knew how shit went in this line of business. "We can talk this shit out like adults or play like kids. Which one?"
"One of yo lil niggas ran up on one of mine. According to my people, he went ghost." Rashad explained.
"So that mean come after me?" Giovanni cocked his head to the side. His brows came together as he looked at Rashad. "That don't make sense to me."
"Okay," he threw his hands up as he chuckled. "Somebody put a hit out on you."
"I would've heard about that shit."
"They came to me personally." Rashad told him.
"Who?"
"Let's just say, it's one hell of a coincidence that you didn't die." Rashad smirked at him.
"What are you implying?"
