Chapter 19- Andromeda
Andromeda smiled softly at the little infant in her arms. She cooed at the baby when she smiled back at her mother. Little Nymphadora was born six months ago and Andromeda had never been happier. She was just like her and her sister. The Black features were very prominent in her daughter. She was more like Bellatrix. The same black hair and the beautiful violet eyes. However she couldn't really complain after all her sister and herself were extremely alike.
It was tough to differentiate between the two, if not for her brown hair. Other than that, she was blessed with a more curvier figure compared to her sister and was more endowed as well.
She was humming a lullaby to her little princess when she watched the hair color and eyes change to brown. If not for the fact that she was on the bed, she would have dropped her daughter in shock. Her eyes were wide as she saw the little girl change her features slightly. Andromeda's shock turned into a full blown grin. Her daughter was a metamorphmagus.
She couldn't be any prouder. Metamorphs have been non-existent in Britain for centuries now. It was a very famous characteristic of the Blacks, who once had a lot of Metamorphs. To learn that her daughter was one in almost three or so centuries, was a very happy thought to Andromeda.
She heard the floo roar and Ted stepped in. The man smiled at Andromeda as he approached her. "How are the two of you doing?" He said as he avoided her eyes. Andromeda frowned slightly.
She was sensing that something was wrong with Ted. He has been behaving extremely weird since the time she announced her pregnancy. He had become distracted. His attention was not on her. She was sure that it was because he was stressed about the arrival of the baby. But that was not the case. Andromeda was not a fool. She could read people as well as Narcissa could. However she just didn't bother trying. But all the indications pointed that something was the matter with Ted. She tried to get him to talk, but he was detached. She let it be, but his attitude was changing and Andromeda began to suspect the man.
Lately, her mind was extremely clear. It felt like something akin to a huge burden was lifted off her shoulder. Her thoughts were more clear. Her occlumency was more powerful than before. Her eyes had lost a hazy feeling that she had grown accustomed to, for the past couple of years.
She smiled despite that. Perhaps her thoughts were baseless. "Ted..." She muttered.
"You are home early." The young man nodded. "Something came up, Andi. I won't be able to come home for two days. I have some work to do. I just came back to inform you and see the two of you." Ted answered with a shrug.
Andromeda's smile strained slightly, but she didn't let it show on her face. Instead she said
"It's fine, Ted. You are working very hard for our sake. Go on. But come home quickly." She said sternly.
Ted nodded. He bent down and placed a kiss on her forehead. "I'll see you soon." and then promptly left the room.
He once again ignored his own daughter for the umpteenth time. But this time, Andromeda smelt a perfume on him. A perfume that she was unfamiliar with. She would have ignored it as Ted's new perfume, but this was more feminine and Ted was extremely conscious about these things. He didn't change those aspects, saying that it was a part of him.
Andromeda stood up and walked to the floo. She waved her wand and began chanting in latin. This was a spell that Harry had taught her and her sisters a long time ago. A spell used to track a person without their knowledge.
