Felix's room was dimly lit, the only light coming from the flickering candles scattered around. The air was filled with a mix of tension and excitement, a private world we had carved out for ourselves amidst the chaos of the coronation. Felix's strong hands were on my waist, pulling me closer as we kissed, our breaths mingling in the intimate space.

Just as things were heating up, a knock on the door shattered our private moment. "Felix, it's Mylo. May I come in?"

My heart skipped a beat, and Felix's eyes widened in alarm. "Hide," he whispered urgently, glancing around for a place where I could disappear from sight. Without hesitation, I slipped behind a large tapestry hanging on the wall, pressing myself against the cool stone and trying to steady my breathing.

The door creaked open, and I peered through a small gap in the tapestry, watching the interaction unfold. Mylo entered the room, his presence commanding as always.

"Of course," Felix replied, setting his sword aside and rising to meet Mylo. "What brings you here so early, Your Majesty?"

A flicker of annoyance crossed Mylo's face at the formal title, but he quickly brushed it aside. "I have a matter of great importance to discuss with you, Felix. Ser Thaddeus has requested to step down as Lord Commander. I need someone I can trust implicitly to take his place. I need you."

Mylo's words hung in the air, and I could see the shock on Felix's face. He was honored, yes, but also overwhelmed by the gravity of the responsibility being placed upon him.

"Me? Mylo, I'm honored, but are you sure? This is no small responsibility."

"I am certain," Mylo said firmly. "You have proven your loyalty and skill time and time again. There is no one I trust more to protect me and our kingdom. And besides," he added with a knowing smile, "you have... certain abilities that make you uniquely suited for the role."

Felix's eyes narrowed slightly, understanding the subtle hint. Mylo had always known about Felix's lycanthropy, and while it was a closely guarded secret, Mylo saw it as an asset, not a curse.

"If that is your wish, Your Majesty, then I will serve as your Lord Commander," Felix replied, his voice steady.

"Thank you, Felix," Mylo said, clapping him on the shoulder. "I know you will be exceptional in this role. Now, we have much to discuss and prepare for. Our alliance with Dragonstone is a significant step forward, and we need to ensure everything is in place."

With that, Mylo left the room, leaving Felix standing there, deep in thought. I emerged from behind the tapestry, a teasing smile on my lips. "You lied to your new king about not knowing where I was," I said, my voice light and playful.

Felix turned to me, a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. "I didn't lie. I just didn't volunteer unnecessary information."

I laughed softly, stepping closer to him. "That's a fine line to walk, Lord Commander."

He rolled his eyes but couldn't suppress his grin. "You're incorrigible."

I reached up, running a hand through his hair. "Well, it looks like I'll have to get used to calling you Lord Commander. But I suppose congratulations are in order."

His mood shifted slightly, a shadow passing over his features. "It's a heavy burden, Aurora. I hope I'm ready for it."

"You'll be amazing," I said confidently, squeezing his hand. "Mylo trusts you, and so do I."

He pulled me into a brief, intense kiss, as if drawing strength from our connection. When he pulled away, his expression was more resolved. "Thank you."

I smiled, giving his hand one last squeeze before stepping back. "I'll leave you to your thoughts, Lord Commander. But don't think for a second that I won't keep teasing you about this."

Felix chuckled, the sound reassuring despite the weight of his new responsibility. "I'd expect nothing less."

With a final playful wink, I left his quarters, my mind buzzing with the events of the morning. The kingdom was changing, and we all had roles to play.
