Atsushi POV

It felt nice, hearing her voice again. And first thing in the morning too~ it turned my mood around.

Yesterday, our win was empty.

It felt empty. Like there was no point in continuing the four quarters if we floored our opponents just like that.

I'm getting tired of this.

No one was there to watch me either.

I can't wait to finish this and go home. Teiko will be number one no matter what anyway...

"Ne Midochin, we'll be number one right?" I turned around to face him while I was still lying in my bed.

"Baka. Of course we'll be number one." He coldly replied.

Today was our rest day. Some other teams will play instead.

Akachin wants us to watch but I don't want to...

I'd rather eat out or sleep than watch a bunch of losers.

Akachin, Midochin and I went out for a while to see Yokohama.

"You know, that Toriko school might place second. We might get to fight them for the championship." Akachin opened up a conversation about what else...

"I don't care who it is. I'll crush them." I replied.

"Oh Murasakibara kun, how's my sister doing?"

"Huh? How should I know?" We were all in Yokohama...

"In class, I mean. Is she doing fine?" Why did he change topic.

"Of course. She always listens to the teacher no matter what." I replied.

"You shouldn't ask about Miyuki. Ask about him and how he's doing." Midorima commented.

"I'm sure Murasakibara kun is doing just fine." Akachin replied.

"I'm not stupid Midochin." I huffed.

"But you are lazy." He replied.

Who was I to disagree. He was right. I was a bit lazy sometimes... As long as I pass right? That's all I need to do.

"Before I left, Miyuki was already preparing gifts for her friends." Akachin said, he seemed amused with Yukichin.

"She did mention she'll give me a gift." I said out loud.

"Are you exchanging?" Midochin asked.

"Exchanging?"

"You have to give her a gift too, baka! Since she considers you a friend." He was so grumpy.

"What should I get her? Akachin, what does Yukichin like?" I asked the closest Person to her.

"Hmm. She doesn't like anything in particular." He thought. "Just give her anything."

"Buy her something here in Yokohama." Midochin suggested.

"I've never given anyone a gift before. It'll be hard..." I sighed. I have to think about it really hard.

We won every single game in our line up. All that was left were the championships on the last day before the break.

It was time to go home. I was tired and it was already dark outside. Everyone was yawning on the trip back. Good thing it was a saturday the next day so I can sleep in~

I think I passed out? I don't know how I got into my warm and comfy bed.

I looked at the time and it read 11:09am.

"Mom..!" I shouted.

"Can't hear you hun. Come down!" She shouted back.

So I trudged down.

"I wanna eat." I yawned.

"Help yourself to some eggs and fried pork dear. I left you some."

I got a bowl and my mom filled it with rice. I took some chopsticks and ate my breakfast(?).

"Hey mom," i called her attention.

"Hmm?"

"What do you think is a good gift to a girl?"

"A girl?" She rung.

"Yup. We're exchanging gifts."

"Hmm. It depends. What is she like?"

"She's..." I thought, "observant. and moody... She buys me snacks sometimes.." I enumerated.

"That doesn't help at all Atsushi." She sighed, "all those are normal. Are you even close?"

"Of course we're close."

"Well, Is she nice?"

"I guess."

"Is she smart?"

"Very smart."

"Does she eat a lot?"

"She can eat a lot..."

"What's her favorite food?"

"Maki."

"Do you want me to make her some maki then?"

"No. That's not a gift. That's lunch..." I complained.

"You know what, why don't you ask her instead? So you have an idea of what she really likes." My mom suggested.

I thought about asking her directly but she'd probably say nothing.

I also want it to be a surprise...

I'll end up not buying her anything because it'll be tiring to think about it too much.

I guess i'll worry about it next time. I'll just wait when I see her again.
