|Atsushi POV|

We haven't talked for days...

We've been awkward towards each other eversince then.

And until that day,

"Atsushi," Yukichin called my name as she approached me at my desk.

I instinctively looked up at her pretty face right away.

Her calling my name was music to my ears.

"Y-yeah?" I answered.

"... Can you come with me for a sec?" She said with a kind sounding voice. Something was different... I could feel that she seriously needed to talk to me.

I had to go with her. I followed Yukichin up the stairs up to the rooftop.

"The roof? why?" I asked.

I was curious.

Maybe it was a good thing, maybe she'll tell me she likes me~ my heart started to pound heavily. i was pretty tensed.

She walked up to the ledge and waited for me to follow her. I leaned on the metal bars while she leaned forward, looking out.

I looked at Yukichin and her hair was getting messed up by the wind. She tucked it behind her ear. She looked far out at the other tiny buildings surrounding Teiko. I can't forget how her marshmallow perfume mixed with the strong wind blowing to and fro like it couldn't make up it's mind.

"Remember when you confessed on White day?" She started with a small smile on her face as she looked out.

"Yeah?"

"And I didn't give a clear answer?"

"Eto... you actually did, Yukichin. You kinda said no." I answered and it hurt. It hurt me to recall what happened that day. I failed miserably and now it's awkward.

"Well, actually, I have a clear reason why." I saw Yukichin turn to look at me at the corner of my eye, "I have to go to Korea." She said.

I got confused. Wait, what?

Go to Korea??

"Oh, for vacation?" So does that mean that we have a chance next semester? I was feeling hopeful.

"No." she breathed with a small smile, "For the next year or longer..." her voice cracked, "I have to tend to our company branch there. like I told you, I have a lot of work to do. I'm sorry, Atsushi." her sincerity was painful.

"You won't be... returning for your senior year?" I couldn't help feel down while asking.. so much for my thoughts earlier...

Yukichin shook her head in such a beautiful way. She looked so vulnerable today. She looked so sincere. I didn't know what to feel.

I couldn't possibly be mad at her. It isn't her fault she had to go somewhere...

I just thought that maybe...

maybe...

we could be something next year...

"I see.." I didn't have any other words.. Things inside my brain were jumbled up. This was all so sudden to me.

"Sorry. I had a fun time hanging out with you this past year, Atsushi. I really did." she tried to lighten the mood.

"Yeah, me too." I nodded. All the fun times I had with her started to flash.

all the moments that led to me liking her, I remembered them all.

A year with Yukichin just went by so fast that I wish we had more time together to spend.

"When will you leave?" I asked.

"Right after the closing ceremonies. My flight is on the same day." She sighed. I could feel that Yukichin wasn't happy. I wasn't either.

Why didn't she tell me sooner?

The closing ceremony was a day away. I don't think I can do more to make her remember me.

We were both sad but nobody said anything. We pretended that this was all okay. Pride was something strong in the both of us.

There's nothing left to say.

So this is goodbye...

To my first love.

To the first girl I ever confessed to.

I have a book 2 for this story, Empress and the Giant, but i feel like, not posting it right now. Idk. I feel it's still lacking. But I'll give you a headsup if I post it. :)
