AUTHORS NOTE:
Apologies for late updates. I've been trying to be consistent but ya know life. And I may have kinda somewhat had a tiny writers block. More as to how to write it and not what to write. Anyways thank you for reading and liking the story. Carry on.

*Stabler's Apartment (6:47a)*

Elliott wakes Fin up off of his couch. He waits for Fin to get ready and head out the door as officers arrive to replace them for the shift. They greet the officers changing shifts and assign them to different location to get them moving. Fin beats Elliott to the car announcing he's driving. Stabler chuckles and gladly sits in the passenger seat. As much as Stabler likes to drive, taking a break is better. Still have to be aware but not as much. Sergeant Tutuola and Detective Stabler head off to the squad rooms.

*OC Squad Room (9:09a)*

"Hey Jet, get anything else on Keith last night? Anything we can use to assist Captain Benson?" He greets walking into the room. Tutuola follows him in also greeting the crew.
"No but Vargas has seen activity on his cards," she informs.
"Whaddya get?" Stabler asks Vargas, heading towards his computer in the other side of the room.
"Surprisingly he didn't close his cards and all of them are in his name. He makes frequent on time payments." Vargas states.
"For what exactly?" Tutuola questions curiously.
"His credit cards, car, and apartment-"Vargas gets cut off.
"We got a hit...Keith just used his card at an ATM. Took out 200 and paid an EZ pass ticket towards Jersey" Jet announces.
"Jersey? What's there?" Fin inquires.
"Uh..Looking it up now. I have street cameras following his car. He first stopped in Newark. He was there roughly 2-3 hours, then stopped at 92 Hillcrest Avenue. He left a few hours ago and came back to New York."
"That's the McCanns' place. How long was he there for," Stabler explains in deep concern. Jet's eyes get big in an internal panic as Fin and Elliott express the same thoughts through the look they gave each other. Vargas looks around confused. Sergeant Bell enters the area with her smile fading into a serious questioning expression. Already not liking the atmosphere, she probes the question,"What happened?"
"Fin, you and I have to head to Benson now." Elliott insists.
"Jet contact detectives Bruno, Velasco and Curry. Give them the information and have them see if they can spare a few officers to head to the McCanns house. If you have to lighten the load of officers on Stablers place. I'll personally watch over there," Sergeant Tutuola orders,"Let go El."
"Wait, why are we putting a detail on the McCanns?" Bell persists.
"Lewis went to the McCanns a few hours ago. Fin and I are going to inform the Captain and head over to see what he wanted" Stabler answers.
"Where is he now?"
"Vargas is tracking him. As far as we know he went to the ATM, then Jersey and came back to New York"
"Alright go. We'll keep a close and update you on any other activity."
The two men nod as they rush to get to Benson. She only has a few hours left until she has to rendezvous with Keith Lewis.
"Hey Fin, think we can check the McCanns first? It'll save us some time and we can check on Noah" Elliott asks as fin pulls off.
"Alright. We'll ask them a few questions and make sure Noah's okay. Hopefully that'll bring the Captain some relief"
"Yea...let's hope."

*The McCanns (1:45p)*

"I thought New York traffic was bad," Fin jokes getting out the car.
"Honestly I think that was New York traffic...it's summer," Stabler replies. Both men shut their doors and walk up to the front door of the McCanns. Stabler rings the door bell. No answer. He rings it again and waits a minute for answer. Nothing. Tutuola then knocks on the door and announces himself. Both men look at each other as they get into armed positions. Each try to glance through the windows but the curtains are blocking their view. They hear movement but before they could kick down the door, Mr. McCann opens it up.
"You must be Mr. McCann?"Fin says semi-sarcastically.
"Yes but you can call me Matt. Detective Stabler, are you alright? To what do I owe the pleasure?"
"Apologies Matt. This is a friend of mine, Sergeant Tutuola."
"You can call Fin. May we come in?"
"Of course. What seems to be the problem?" Matt asks hesitantly. Ginny and the boys come in from the back yard.
"Fin, Elliott!" Noah exclaims happy to see both of them.
"Hey Noah. How ya doing kid?" Fin asks.
"I'm good. My brother and I just helped setting up the pool. Are you guys here to take me home?"
Elliott grins. "No we're not. Hey why don't you give Fin and I a sec to speak with Mr. Matt and Mrs. Ginny" he implies.
"Okay!" Noah yells running up at stairs.
"What's a matter?" Mrs. Ginny persists.
"Was there a man here a few hours ago?" Elliott questions.
"Yes. Was he trouble?" Says Mr. McCann.
"No. we're just looking for a missing person-"
"Please don't lie to us...if it's about the safety of the kids, we deserve to know," Mrs. McCann orders.
"Alright,"Fin starts," The man the was here earlier is apart of our investigation. We see the kids are safe. All we need to know is why he was here and what did he say"
Elliott piggy backs off of Fin." He's a dangerous man. Unfortunately we can't give you anything else and we wouldn't like the kids to know. But are there any small details either of you noticed? Any suspicious behavior or maybe even a weird feeling you had?"
"No...not that got from him. Ginny, did you get anything on him?"
"It was weird he knew our address and names. I didn't think I recognized him but he only asked for a drink of water and spoke to Noah. We were present though."
"And what did he say?" Fin probes.
"Nothing inappropriate. Just asked him how was school, grades, birthday, and about Captain Benson. Then he gave Noah 200. I told him to go put it up. Then the man thanked us and left" she recalls.
"Did he say anything else?" Stabler questions.
"No. Just that he'd been traveling, looking for a woman he lost contact with and left." Matt insists.
"Mind if we speak with Noah?" Fin asks.
"Yea sure." The McCanns grant the request of the detectives. Ginny calls Noah and Connor down. Already to get in the pool Elliott and Fin call Noah aside for a minute.
"Hey bud...question for you" Elliott states and bends down to be eye to eye with Noah.
"Okay. What's the question?" Noah waits eagerly.
"The man that you spoke with...that gave you the money...what did he say to you?"
"He asked me about school, my grades, my birthday and my mom"
"What did you tell him about your mom?" Fin tries gently. "Whatever you said you're not in trouble"
Noah stares between Fin and Elliott. They nod in encouragement to speak to them.
"I told him she's a cop. And sometimes when she can't come home I come here. I also told him that he can find my mom at her job and that she helps everyone she can."
"You did good Noah. Thank you. Now go have fun" Elliott stands back up after patting Noah on the shoulder.
"Alright. Tell my mom I love her and I'll call her later."
"Hang on Noah..."Fin stops him.
"Yes?"
"Did the man say why he gave you the money?"
"For my birthday and grades"
"Great job kid. Well here's a little more from Uncle Fin. Go be kid"
"THANKS UNCLE FIN!!!" Noah screams excitedly as he runs to put away his money and head out to the pool with Connor.
"Thank you for your help and time" Fin thanks. The McCanns nod as they walk both detectives out wishing them good luck. Both men glad to see Noah wasn't injured or kidnapped, they finally head to Benson.
