L&O: Crossover

~Cold Case~

•A few weeks later•

*Fin and Phoebe's Apartment (4:09a)*

"Sergeant Fin Tutuola", he automatically responds.

"Sergeant? Could've fooled me", the voice taunts.

Fin fixes himself to the end of the bed to make his way into another room.
"Work?"

"I don't know. I'm about to find out, go back to sleep. Hopefully I'll be back in a minute"

Fin makes it to the living room to address the voice.

"Can I help you with something?"

"Depends...how does it take for you to call your partner?"

"Not long"

"Doesn't seem like it...It's been what, 10 years and no word for your old partner. Did I not spew enough craziness to get checked on one in a blue moon?"
Fin knew exactly who he was talking to with quick realization.

"Munch."

"As I live and breathe but you wouldn't know that"How you been man," he says chuckling.

"Well I could be better...how about you?"

"I'm doing alright."

"That's good"

"Munch...you know it's 4 something in the morning right. You couldn't have waited to call?"

"I'm aware", Munch says cackling through the phone," But I've heard you guys were in but of a bind a few weeks ago. Figured I'd call and lend some of my expertise"

"Thanks buts it's been silent for a few days now. I'm surprised you knew what was going on...didn't think you owned a tv with big brother watching"

"Don't underestimate me Fin. But I do apologize for morning call, but I'm serious about lending a hand. Everyone knows I don't like big brother but he does come in handy"

Fin laughs. "Same ole John...but why did you call me this early"

"Your "friend" came to visit me a few hours ago. Knew a lot about me, our partnership, my relationships...who is this guy exactly"

"A nightmare from our past."

"Fun. Well i should be letting you go, get the rest if your sleep. When can we talk?"

"I'll let you know. See you soon Munch"

"You too brother"

Both hang up and fin head back to bed. And hour and a few minutes pass just tossing in bed. Unable to sleep anymore today, Fin gets ready and calls Benson and Bell.

•A Bar a few miles from the Department•
•(11:05a)•

"Its a little early to be day drinking, dont you think"

"Benson gave me the day off. I think it a few drinks with an old partner is never too early", Fin replies turning to face Munch.

"Hey who you calling old...I can still get down" Munch chuckles trying to be serious.

"Yea...get down and never get up" he jokes.

They get up and embrace each other.
Years have past since Fin last saw Munch and vise versa. Last thing Fin remembers was Munch announcing his retirement. Even though he didn't show it, Fin was ecstatic for Munch. He truly deserved it.

"How you been John?"

"I'm good. Really good. Retirement is one of the best things I could've done."

"Nice to hear that. I'm sorry we couldn't stay in touch as much"

"It's alright. Just glad your number was still the same...So about this case. Your little friend paid me a visit."

"Yea, sorry about that too. What did he want?"

"Couldn't tell. He asked me personal questions like my marriages, retirement, if i missed the job working with you guys...not the kinda questions i would expect"

"Whatcha tell him?"

"The minimum. He focused everything on me. I tried asking a few of my own but at las no avail"

"I don't know what this kids end game is. Could you get a read on him"

"Not much. How's Liv...I know i asked earlier but"

"She's holding up for now. Stablers got her"

"He's back?! How'd that go?"

"About as you'd expect but Liv came around and now they're like partners again. Even finishing each other's sentences", Fin jokes.

"Those two were always a great team. Ya know i did pick up on something while i was being questioned by him."

"Weapons, another person?"

"No. I know he's fixed on Liv but he also knew about Noah. They were small whispers, like he was thinking out loud."

"We've noticed. He gave noah some money. If you ask me...he whispered purposely. Everything this guy does is maticulous."

"That's what I was thinking but this genuinely felt like i wasn't supposed to hear him. Like he was present talking to me but not focused as usual"

"Hmmm. Thats new"

Phone Buzzes*

"Sorry the wife"
"It's alright Munch, I understand.""Thanks"
"It was nice to hear from you John."

"You too Fin. Don't be a stranger and tell Phoebe, I said I was the first partner who drove you nuts"

"How'd you know"

"Big brother...oh and I may have spoken to Rollins and Amaro."

Laughing Fin nods his head as he gets up to say goodbye to his partner one last time.

"Take care of yourself John"

"You too Fin."

R.I.P Richard Beltzer

I was a little upset that Fin and Munch didn't have proper goodbye and we couldn't see them one last time. I would've liked to see their interaction again.
