A silly kidnap
My eyes flickered open to my failing vision. I could tell I was lying on my back in my sitting room, the refreshing late afternoon breeze gliding through the window and splashing onto the room; the decor blurring back to me.
Wait, afternoon?
I felt as though every inch of my body was pounding which made me murmur in distress as though I was having thousands of needles across my body.
"Blair?" a voice called my name softly and gently. The linger of my name through those graceful lips made me feel a bit peaceful but that didn't mean the aching feeling disappeared. With every muscle in my body, I tried pulling myself into an upright position.
Which was an utter fail.
Collapsing back onto the soft cushion , thankfully, my body laid resting on where I originally was.
"Blair, relax."
It was that voice again. Slowly feeling my eyes regain control, I shifted my gaze from the wall to the boy who was kneeling beside me. It looked like he was at my deathbed which made me freak out about the situation for a moment.
"Huh? Charlie? What happened?" my confused voice filled the air, not knowing whether I was even audible enough.
He burst into abrupt laughter, covering his mouth which made me throw him a confused crunched face.
"What's so funny, you confused loser." I said, managing to hoist myself into an upright position as he stood up to laugh some more.
"I'm sorry, I just couldn't help thinking about a kidnapped situation after you said that. We can re-act that though." He said chuckling, throwing me a wink at his last sentence.
"I hope you get deported."
"Just because I've got a tad bit of Italia-"
"I don't think the Italians would want you either." I insulted, only to groan soon after and shoot my left palm onto my forehead as my face crunched once more.
I'm going to have a hell lot of wrinkles at my old age.
"That's right, now die." He said, a devilish smirk forming, "Anyway," he said, pulling out a brownish small package with the words "Baltimore Clinic" written across it repeatedly, in small fonts and a fading shade of blue.
"So I called up your mom and she told me what was going on err... healthwise, not mentally," He said, throwing me yet another of his smirks.
"I know that I've got issues but you're pretty messed up too, as quoted from the awesome Kelly Clarkson. Anyway, go on please." I said, shaking my head with a smile plastered on my face.
"Bottom line is, you just have to take these." he said, shaking the package with the sound of bottled medicine replying to him.
"Hahahaha.... no. What's the other option, Doc." I said, taking a step back.
"That's the thing, there isn't any." he said bluntly, a permenant smirk showing its dirty face.
Doesn't this boy's face muscles get tired?
"Well I'll take the do-nothing option then." I said bluntly, a smile seeping to my smiles, taking a step back.
"That one isn't available." smirk still evident and fresh, taking a step forward towards me.
"Then add it." taking a step back
"Not my job." suddenly starts running towards me.
It was in that moment that I immediately turned and ran to whatever direction that was in front of me. It was as if my house became this maze to entertain our little game. For a moment, flashes of us running around as kids came filling my thoughts and chuckles soon came rushing out of my mouth and for some reason, Charlie laughed too. The mood was so light, for a moment I forgot we were two grown teenagers, one still sad from a missing patch from 7 years ago and one who took that patch.
"Take your damn medicine Blair!"
"I'd take it to throw that bull out instead."
I tried to think my way into secret rooms and places that would hide me for a while but Charlie knew this house as much as I did. I ran through the dining room for a second time.
The side effects of my fever made me soon feel tired to my knees, making me lose my pace. Sadly for me, Charlie's pace did not.
"hey!" we both bawled in union, making us both go crushing to the ground, "Oww."
When I flickered my eyes open to the pain on my lower body because Charlie was lying on top of me and he opened his eyes too and hoisted his head up to meet mine, eyes now locking.
It was in that moment, a warm feeling started to spread across my head, feeling myself suddenly feeling nervous and blush slowly start to diffuse across my cheeks. Looking directly at his brown eyes made me feel so warm inside for some reason.
I aggressively shook my head out of this moment and Charlie looked away as he ran his hands through his soft brown hair.
"Get off me you idiot!" I backed, using my weak limps I call arms to try push him off, no effort of course.
"Don't move or I'll hump you." he said bluntly, trying hard to resist a smirk.
"What?! Eww, get off get off." I said, now screaming.
"Calm down, this is a perfect opportunity." he murmured, loud enough for me to hear.
It was in that moment that I could see his head, slowly lowering to mine and I could swear that everything inside me was combusting in utter madness. His face stopped, only inched from mine and his classical smirk returned to my dismay.
What followed was something I couldn't even comprehend myself. Charlie Climbed up and was now sitting on my stomach, securing my heads under his knees while me still lying on the ground.
"What the-"
"Shh shh." He said, taking out that awful brown package again for me to see and removing a bottle with screaming pink colour to it. It was a small size, with a sticker wrapped around it writing its prescription.
"How did you even get the medicine without me even being there to explain how I feel or anything. Isn't that illegal?"
"Somebody knows their laws," he said chuckling, "Well, technically yes, but my mum's friend works at the pharmacy so that clears that story." He finished.
Removing the small cup that was on top of the cap of the bottle, he effortlessly twisted the bottle and there was a 'pop' sound that followed. Reading the prescription once more, He poured onto the cup to its prescribed measurement and confirming. He then placed the bottle down and turned to me.
All this, I watched him do without even realising I was gawking like a curious infant at an aquarium.
"Where did your friends go anyway?" I said, the question flowing out of my mouth as soon as it came to me.
"Told them I'll catch up with them later. Now say "ahh"" He replied simply and got down to business.
"Noo." I said, copying the way he said 'ahh' to 'noo'.
"Too bad." was his last words, before he swiftly crushing the cup onto my mouth and pouring its content inside. Sadly, he wasn't a professional at it so a bit fell on the side of my mouth.
"Mmm... this actually doesn't taste that bad." I said, savouring the taste in my mouth and swallowing. I then licked the side of my mouth to get the one that never made it.
When I looked back up, I caught Charlie staring at me with a gentle smile plastered on his face as he shook his head.
"What?" I chuckled.
He slowly got off me and something hit me in my head. Something that's been bothering me from the moment I woke up. Something that surprising managed to conceal itself until this very moment. Something that could possibly be the reason that made me so sick and made this day possible.
"Oh shit, Jordan!" I gaped without thinking.
