When we had to go down town, I asked Kalao if he could fetch me my coat and hood. The reason, is pretty obvious.  Everyone was deciding what diner would satisfy our stomachs. We agreed to eat at a diner that also serves alcoholic drinks, which is quite odd.

I usually eat at the castle with Kalao but this is the first time we ate with the others. And I had no knowledge about the menus and the food that they serve, which made me skeptical. But Everyone said it’s a worth it experience for the first time, but it doesn’t really ring the bell for me that it is worth it.

I even asked Kalao if he ever ate food from other cooks outside of the palace, and he told me he did a few times and it was enjoyable. He also said that he could recommend some items for me to try, which, I agree with.

When we got there, a lot of other citizens are also enjoying their meals at this place. Which is pretty amusing to see. This place wasn’t fancy at all, it was simplistic which made the atmosphere more interesting. Hari led us to a table at the balcony area where we could see a fascinating view of the town.

Katria is divided by boarders or walls. The common folk towns, where the lower class citizens live. The noble’s paradise, where the middle class lives. The Katria’s brain and heart, the palace of Samira, where I live. And the small civilizations of Katria are also considered as a part of Katria. The Royal Force Head quarters is just located in the border of the palace and the noble’s paradise.

And we decided to go all the way to town to eat somewhere else, since everyone was on a budget. Just like what Kalao said, he did recommend me some items to try and everything looked delicious. But I decided to go with something light weight.

Since some of us are at the legal age, they wanted to grab some alcohol. Everyone had a great time. Hari tries to stop Diamond from drinking too much, AJ and Larra drinking a lot more than the rest, and me and Kalao just watching and laughing the night away. While everything was happening, we talked about alot of our lives. Our hardships, and victories in life.
And the atmosphere didn’t feel akward nor uncomfortable. None of us judged about each other’s experiences and we gave a lot advice and comfort while the others are drunk. It felt nice to have a group of people to bond with besides your family.

It was a late hour and we decided to head back to HQ. AJ, Larra and  Diamond ended up very drunk. It made us feel like we are the older ones taking care of them until they sober up. We took a wooden cart going back to the headquarters since the 'adults’ are too drunk to ride their horses.

We when came back, we were exhausted so we helped the others get back to our dorms. As we were walking I over heard a conversation with a knight from an expedition, and Akria. I told the others to go first since I was very curious what they were talking about.

I went close to where they were and started eavesdropping. But then suddenly, I saw Kalao beside me.

“Kalao what are you doing? Aren’t you supposed to help the drunkards?” I whispered.

"Princess, your father ordered me to stay by your side for your whole time from the palace to ensure your safety.” He replied.

“Alright, alright. Now let me listen.”

The conversation continued with the knight and Akira.
“Is that really true?” Akira asked.

“Yes ma’am, there’s an unknown barrier around the kingdom of Raque. One of us got too close and they passed out in an instant due to the amount of magical aura it has, It's too powerful.”

“That’s literally impossible, how could the Kingdom of Raque hold that amount of arua.” Akira replied in disbelief.

“That’s what we were thinking. We believe The Kingdom of Raque has the Crystal.”

“If that’s true, then we should’ve found the crystal years ago.” Akira replied.
“Well... should we report it to the royal family?” the knight asked.

“There’s no need. Princess Viliua is already listening to our conversation with her boyfriend.” Akira said.

I already knew that she felt my presence as soon as I stood there. So, I decided to join the conversation with Kalao.

“Number one, Kalao is not my lover. Number two, What is going on? And finally, How’s the condition of the other knights from the expedition?” I asked while stepping out of the shadows.

“Ma’am can I-“

“Yes. She’s part of the royal family after all. Let alone the next heir of our kingdom.” Akira said before the knight could finish.

“Ahem, so as you may have heard from what we were talking about earlier, your highness. Is that the kingdom of Raque suddenly was surrounded by a magical barrier. It had very powerful aura, which a lot of strong knights can’t handle.” The knight stated in fear.

“Hm… when did the barrier appear?” I asked.

“The last time we searched the kingdom, was 6 months ago. And it took us almost a week to reach Raque.” He continued

“Was there any suspicious activity, in the palace or anywhere in the kingdom six months ago? Were the people acting weird or anything?”

“No, surprisingly. Everything seem normal when we were there. Nothing chaotic nor suspicious was going around. The aura was not even intense.” He said.

“How could this be possible..?” I questioned.

“This phenomenon is very odd, yet a lot of things don’t add up" Akira said.

In the silence, I was trying to figure out what could be the serious cause of this barrier. Is the kingdom of Raque under a spell? Are they in danger? Is the royal Family behind all of this?

“So.. your highness, are we going to report this to your parents?” Kalao asked.
“… Yes, we should. If that’s alright for the Royal Force.” I replied.

“Don’t worry princess, you may share information from the headquarters to the palace.” She said.

“Thank you, Ma’am. Kalao we are going back to the castle first thing in the morning.” I told them.

“Understood your highness.” Kalao responded.

After thanking Akira and the Knight, me and Kalao went out of the Headquarters for awhile to think about the situation.

“Princess Viliua, this matter seems urgent. What’s your thoughts about this?” Kalao asked.

“I’m… not too sure. It's quite puzzling for me.”

“Hm, its understandable. But make sure to rest, alright? You might end up passing out from exhaustion again.” Kalao chuckled.

“I- I won’t this time! I promise, I’m trying to get used to this.” I replied.

“Alright, alright. Just take care of yourself, you always make me worry about you.” He said with his head down.

“….Hmph, you’re the one who keeps getting me out of trouble. So, you’re the one who takes care of me.” I giggled.

We both laughed and enjoyed the night stars together. Kalao was always an important person in my life. He was with me in my early days of my childhood. Since he was the son of my father’s adviser, my father wanted Kalao to take care of me at the age of seven because Kalao was an intelligent child. The story on how we met was like no other.
