Pastor Eddie Brock is cleaning his house. Wondering about where the goo he has with him comes from.
"Okay, champ. Tell me more about yourself." - Eddie asks his symbiote.
It shows what it showed to Peter. An alien from outer space, but it shows Cletus Kassidy killing a homeless man.
"Oh, no. Cletus!" - Eddie remembers him from a long ago.
They used to be in the same school. Eddie tried to befriend Cletus, but he was deep inside a rotten bastard.
Cletus would hurt animals, hurt others psychologically and even manipulate others to do his bindings.
Once Eddie tried to tell principle about it, but Cletus was smart enough to manipulate him not to. He remembers what Cletus told him: "You know. Be happy that you have a father. I killed him and rest of my family because I was bored. You can tell me to stop all I want, but I won't. I will always kill anyone and anything because I can."
Eddie out of disgust told him: "What's so fun about killing?"
Cletus stared at Eddie like a cow looking at the train and responded with: "I was just kidding, but don't tell principle about this."
Eddie was still suspicious about him nonetheless. Next day, the orphanage Cletus stayed in was burned. Eddie found out it was Cletus who burned it, but no one would trust him anyways.
He still tried to come up with theories and clues that Cletus was responsible for this, but even then no one would believe him.
He gave up the chance of becoming the detective or a photographer fearing he will become corrupt.
He decided to become a pastor.
Back to the present, Eddie also finds out about Peter Parker through symbiote.
The next day, February 17th, Eddie visits Peter near the Peter Pan Donut and Pastry Shop.
"Pastor Brock, what are you doing here?" - Peter notices him.
"Do you happen to know about Cletus Kassidy? I can help you defeat him." - Eddie tells Peter and shows Peter his symbiote.
"We need more folks to defeat Cletus. You know anyone powerful enough?"
"Yup. Bruce Banner."
"I am in contact with Human Torch."
"Four guys. We need like two more."
"I have a girlfriend who also has the symbiote."
"Miss Watson? She often visits me."
"That's nice."
"So. Where do we meet?" - Eddie asks as he slowly looks at the pastry.
"Good choice, pastor Brock."
