Coffee at midnight
The light reflects
The chain on your neck
He (She) says, "Look up"
And your shoulders brush
No proof, one touch
But you felt enoughAdelaide Kori Shepherd or Kori Shepherd as she prefers is the youngest Shepherd child and had always been the forgotten one but she still wanted to be a doctor, she tried her hardest but she never felt like she was good enough. Out of all her siblings she was closest to Amelia and even when Amelia had her troubles she would always look out for Kori.
Kori had always had a strained relationship with her mother, never fully seeing eye to eye with her wether it was because of a boy (or girl) she was dating, to her grades at school even to her behaviour all together. Kori always felt like she was the disappointment child so as soon as she was old enough she left home, she moved out of state and started working on herself, on her education and finally becoming an intern at the same hospital her older brother works at.
Being known as Dereks little sister frustrated Kori, she wanted to scream that she was her own person and to stop comparing her to her brother but when she tried to nothing came out.
Kori had a secret, one that nobody knew about too, she had a son who she named Connor. Kori gave her son up as soon as she gave birth, she thought it was best for him, to give him the life she couldn't give him. Sometimes she regretted her decision to give Connor up but she reminds herself that Connor had a better life and he is happy. She had to believe that otherwise she would drive herself crazy.
Follow Kori as she falls for her best friend Jo Wilson
