Wichapas woke up groaning. There was a hard impact on his back that kicked out the sleep in him. He opened his eyes, completely awakened. It’s like a hard punch obviously directed to his spine. Wichapas almost felt it was intentional.  He rolled over to see what’s going on behind him. He almost forgot he’s not alone on his king size bed. A smile automatically showed on his lips as he saw his son sleeping peacefully. The kid is now sleeping horizontally, feet darted to his father. That explains the kick Wichapas felt earlier. It’s a good thing the size of the bed is big enough not to make Blue fall. The kid seems to sleep a little wild. Wichapas didn’t bother to move the kid to avoid waking him up. He just covered him with a blanket.

Wichapas started his morning routine. He always spends an hour at his home gym but not today. He wants to cook some breakfast for Blue. After taking a shower, he looked at the sleeping kid once more before going out of the room.

Prem is making a cup of coffee when Wichapas appear in the kitchen.

“Good morning, Sir.” He eyed the home clothes Wichapas was wearing. “You’re not going to the gym?”

“I want to prepare breakfast for Blue.” He started roaming around the kitchen, trying to figure out what to cook for the kid.

Prem smiled. “Do you want me to grab some ingredients outside?”

“No, thanks. Just give me a cup of coffee.” Wichapas answered without looking at Prem.

They were in the middle of the preparation when they both heard a loud cry.

“Daddy!”

Wichapas immediately dropped the ladle of the soup he was cooking and ran to the stairs with immense fear that something might have happened to Blue. He saw the kid standing on the top of the stairs, eyes full of tears. He can’t remember how he got to the top of the stairs but the first thing he did was scoop his son up and hug him tight.

“What happened? Are you alright?” Wichapas tried consoling Blue even though he can still feel his own heartbeat.

Blue refused to answer and continued sobbing on his father’s shoulder.

“Daddy is just making you some breakfast. You should’ve just come to find me in the kitchen.” Wichapas continued rocking his kid back and forth to calm him down.

“The stairs are scary.” Blue whispered.

Wichapas frowned and looked at the stairs, trying to figure out what is so scary about the stairs. “You don’t like the stairs?”

Blue moved and looked at the stairs. “In the mall, the stairs are high but Papa always picks me up when using them.” Blue wiped his own tears.

Wichapas sighed in relief. He’s thankful nothing happened seriously. It’s just that the stairs are too high for his three-year old kid. He forgot that they are living in a suite with no stairs so the kid is not used to it.

“You did a good job calling Daddy for help. Stop crying now. Daddy is already here.” Wichapas cleared his son’s tears before walking down the stairs. It’s a good thing his son didn’t try going down on his own or something serious might have really happened. A thought of removing the stairs came to his mind but he’ll think of it later.

Prem is waiting for them at the end of the stairs with worried eyes but Wichapas just nods at him, saying it’s alright. The breakfast is a little difficult because Blue became whiny after the incident. Blue refused to eat and leave his father’s arm so Wichapas tried coaxing him to get fed. Prem left after breakfast to attend some business. Wichapas is on leave to spend another day with his son and Prem is more than willing to take his responsibilities for the day.
