Okay But Not Okay

Akk had never seen Ayan show his angry side and seeing it first hand was a little scary even if it wasn't directed at him. The phone call last night from the hospital had shaken both of them. Some guy had called him to inform about Amber's condition. They had rushed to the hospital in the record time and were wet with a stranger showing them way to VIP room where Amber was resting with a guy. A guy. Someone they had never seen before. They had no idea who he was and as if it wasn't concerning enough he was snuggling with Amber in a freaking hospital bed.

Ayan turned to the guy and phrased his confusion and worry in a question, "Why is Amber here?"

Phayu explained the entire ordeal to the two of them without missing out anything. That just sparked more anger and worry in both of them. Their sweet Amber had been attacked? Almost molested? Akk couldn't believe how horribly it could have all ended. What if no one came to save her? He didn't even want to imagine such a grotesque scenario.

"Who are you?" Akk asked.

"I'm Phayu."

"Who's this guy?"

Phayu raised his eyebrows in surprise, "Um....He's her boyfriend, Rain." Was it a secret? Had Amber not told her family about Rain? Were they hiding their relationship? Maybe he shouldn't have told them. But what else could have he said?

"Boyfriend? That's him then."

All the talking had woken the sleeping couple. Amber tried to shift but soon realized she was enveloped in a hug. She snuggled deeper but was startled awake by clearing of throat near bed. She opened her eyes to see Rain's sleeping face in front of her and for the moment she felt immense relief despite the bruises littering his face. A second later she felt the presence of other people in the hospital room and that was enough to make her get up as quickly as her injuries would allow. Ayan and Akk were by the bedside looking equal parts worried and angry. That stranger hadn't left either.

"Phi....."

Ayan couldn't stop himself from gathering Amber in his arms and hugging her as tightly as he could without hurting her. She was safe. Yes, he was angry with her for not informing them about her whereabouts but at the moment all he could think was how much worse it could've been. His baby sister had been hurt and he wasn't there for her.
Something worse could've happened and he had been unaware.

Amber burst into tears for umpteenth time. It finally sinked in that she was safe. There was no place safer than her brother's arms. He would never let anything or anyone hurt her. For the first time since the incident she felt her relax and let someone else take lead. Ayan would make it alright. Rain had woken up as well and was apprehensive about what was going to happen. Amber had talked about her a lot and Rain felt he knew the man already. From what he knew the guy was really protective over his little sister and no way was he going to let this incident go. He was glad Amber had someone who loved her so fiercely and was willing to go to any length to protect her. What he wasn't sure about was how this meeting would go. He hadn't planned to Amber's family under such disturbing circumstances.

"Amber, how could you be so irresponsible?"

"Ayan...."

"I have never stopped you from doing whatever you want yet you lied."

Akk put a hand on Ayan's shoulder to stop his rebuke, "Ayan, let's talk at home. I'll go and get her discharge procedure done."

Phayu interjected, "The fee had already been paid-"

Akk raised an eyebrow in surprise, "What?"

"I paid it-"

"Why?"
