Things had settled into a fairly normal routine for Akk and Ayan. They had revealed their relationship to Amber who had squealed in joy loud enough for entire neighborhood to hear. Akk spent most of the time at Ayan's place, partly for work and mostly for their bonding sessions. Akk still woke up in disbelief some days, wondering if it was all just a big beautiful dream. Lately with Ayan and Amber's help he was getting over his self esteem issues. They pampered him with so much love and care it was hard to feel worthless. He loved Amber as much as he loved Ayan. Amber was like his own little sister. He felt protective towards her to the point that she complained she had two big overprotective brothers to deal with. A little family of his own. Akk smiled at the thought.

A family.

He had always longed for that. Most people took it for granted. Family was one of the most basic thing for many people and that's why they neglected it the most. People considered worry and care of their parents as nagging and restrictions, playful banter of siblings as burden and disdain and dreams of their own child as unrealistic and stupid. People took family as burden, something you had to deal with, something you couldn't just abandon. Yet some people did. Abandoned their family. Akk wondered how easy was it for others to turn away from the love of their family. He desperately craved to be loved like that. An unconditional love of parents. He had dreamed of feeling that his entire life. Yet he couldn't even get a taste of that. People should be more grateful for love they received. They should cherish and care for it because it can be snatched away anytime.

Saturday evening was reserved for having fun and that's what Amber was planning to do with her boyfriend. But she was blissfully unaware of the horror waiting to engulf her soon. She had started dating her boyfriend for a month now and things couldn't be better. They had been on few dates and each date had proven better than previous one. The best part was that her boyfriend loved and cared for her like she hadn't thought possible. They connected on a deeper level. They had so much in common and liked to delve deeper into things that they had different opinions on. She had few girls in school give her a stink eye because she bagged such a hot guy but it's not like she gave a damn. To her he was more than his looks. He was sweet and shy, a little timid for a guy but she liked that about him. She was the bolder one in the relationship and her boyfriend liked to follow her lead. This dynamic worked for them beautifully.

Ayan had been insistent about meeting her boyfriend but she had declined. It was too soon for that. It was equivalent of meeting the parents and they had just started dating, it wasn't like they were planning their wedding. She had hoped Akk would back her up but he's worse than her brother. He was thinking of running a background check on her boyfriend. Talk about being overprotective. Yet it was sweet to be so loved and cared for. She was meeting her boyfriend for dinner and he was one to decide the venue this time. It was some sort of high end lounge. A place definitely out of her budget but due to some insistence by her boyfriend she had relented.

It was quirky and out of box kinda place. It was definitely expensively done, you could tell that the moment you step inside but it wasn't like those boring cut clean luxurious places. It was like a broke artist was given a black card and asked to design the place. She decided she liked it. She stuck to mocktails because she wasn't keen on puking her guts out next day and getting lectured by her brothers. She was pleased to note that her boyfriend did the same. They danced a lot and had few bit sized snacks in between.

"Are you having fun?" He asked as they sat down to catch their breath.

"Yes. I'm glad you brought me here."

"I'll get you another mocktail. It's one of my favorite."

Amber quickly dropped a text to Ayan informing him that she was fine and having fun. Her boyfriend came back with drinks for them and soon they got into their conversation. Amber tried really hard to stay focused but her mind kept slipping away. She could feel a headache coming and her eyes were getting blurry. She had enough presence of mind to come to the conclusion that her drink was spiked. She had been drinking non-alcoholic drink the entire evening. There was no way she should be feeling drunk. Who would spike her drink? But her boyfriend brought it for her. Who would have opportunity to spike it before he gave it to her? Him, of course. But she could not accept that her boyfriend would drug her. She excused herself to washroom to get her bearing.
