Anupama's parents' house in Ahmedabad was a modest yet warm home, filled with memories of her childhood. The walls were adorned with family photos, and the air always smelled of her mother's cooking. It was a stark contrast to the lavish life she had once shared with Anuj in New York, but it was a place that held a comforting familiarity.

Upon arriving, her parents, Madhav and Sushma, were overjoyed to see their daughter and grandson. Madhav, with his greying hair and warm smile, enveloped Anupama in a tight hug, while Sushma fussed over Aarav, showering him with kisses and treats.

"Look how big you've grown, Aarav!" Sushma exclaimed, her eyes twinkling. "You've inherited your mother's charm."

Aarav giggled, shyly hiding behind Anupama's legs. They settled into the routine of the household, Anupama finding solace in the daily rhythms and simple pleasures.

One evening, as the family sat down for dinner, Anupama decided it was time to share the unexpected encounter on the plane. They were enjoying a meal of homemade rotis, sabzi, and dal when Anupama cleared her throat.

"Ma, Papa, I need to tell you something," she began, setting down her fork.

Her parents looked at her, concern immediately shadowing their faces.

"What is it, beta?" Madhav asked gently.

Anupama took a deep breath. "On the flight from New York, we met Anuj and Anu. Our seats were right next to each other."

A silence fell over the table. Her parents exchanged worried glances.

"How did that go?" Sushma finally asked, her voice cautious.

"It was... surprising, to say the least," Anupama replied. "But it wasn't as bad as I feared. We talked, and it felt good to clear the air a bit. It's been five years, and a lot has changed, but seeing Anuj and Anu again brought back a lot of memories."

Madhav nodded thoughtfully. "Sometimes, life has a way of bringing people back together when the time is right. I'm glad it wasn't a negative experience."

Anupama smiled faintly. "Yes, I think it was something we both needed. We're going to see each other again at Samar's wedding, so it was good to break the ice."

Her parents nodded in understanding, offering their silent support.

The days leading up to Samar's wedding were filled with excitement and anticipation. Anupama spent her time helping her mother with preparations, shopping for clothes and gifts, and ensuring everything was in order for the big day.

Aarav was particularly thrilled about the wedding, eager to see his half-sister Anu again and to be a part of the festivities. Anupama found joy in his enthusiasm, which reminded her of the simple pleasures and wonders of childhood.

Samar, Anupama's ex-husband's son, had always held a special place in her heart. Despite the complexities of their family dynamics, she had always supported him and was genuinely happy for his upcoming marriage. The wedding was not just a family event; it was a celebration of love and new beginnings, themes that resonated deeply with her recent experiences.

The day of Samar's wedding arrived, and Anupama dressed in a beautiful, traditional sari. Aarav, dressed in a tiny kurta, looked every bit the adorable little gentleman. As they made their way to the wedding venue, Anupama's heart fluttered with a mix of excitement and nervousness.

The venue was a grand hall adorned with flowers, lights, and vibrant decorations. Guests mingled, the air filled with laughter, music, and the aroma of delicious food. Anupama spotted familiar faces from her past, friends, and family members she hadn't seen in years.
