Armaan and Smriti headed down the stairs, their banter filling the air. "Kaki, I'm not a boy anymore, come on, I'm 22!" Armaan said, his eyes sparkling with amusement.
Archana chuckled, opening her arms to welcome them. "My babies will always be my babies, no matter how old you get!"
Smriti chuckled, kissing Archana's cheek. "Mein toh humesha aapki babygirl rahungi, kaki."
(I will always be your baby girl, aunty.)Armaan side-hugged Archana, his grin still in place. "Yeah, and I'll always be your little troublemaker."
Meera watched, a warm smile spreading across her face. She felt a sense of wonder at the ease and affection between Armaan, Smriti, and Archana. Their bond was palpable, a testament to the love and acceptance that filled this family.
As they approached, Agastya wrapped his arm around Meera's waist, pulling her close.
Meera's heart skipped a beat, feeling a sense of belonging she'd never known before.
The cake cutting ceremony began, and the room fell silent in anticipation. Armaan and Smriti stood behind the grand cake, adorned with candles and intricate designs. Agastya and Meera joined them, along with Harshith who just arrived.
As they cut the cake together, the room erupted in cheers and applause. "Happy birthday!" everyone chimed in unison.
Meera couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder at the grandeur of the celebration. She had never been part of something so lavish and joyful.
As they handed out slices of cake, Agastya leaned in close to Meera. "Pata hai, mujhe Aisa lag raha hai ki aaj se ek nayi kahani shuru hogi," he whispered, his eyes sparkling with warmth.
(You know, I feel like a new story will start from today)Meera's heart skipped a beat at his words, and she smiled, feeling a sense of belonging she'd never known before.
Next, the gift-giving ceremony began, and one by one, guests presented their gifts to the Armaan and Smriti. Agastya turned to Meera and said, "Your presence is the best gift, Meera."
But Meera winked, "Hum khaali haath nahi aaye hai," and pulled out two small, exquisitely wrapped packets from her purse...
(I have not come empty handed)Meera stepped forward, her hands holding two small packets. She smiled warmly as she approached Armaan and Smriti. "Happy birthday," she said, her voice filled with emotion.
Armaan and Smriti exchanged curious glances as Meera handed them each a packet. Inside, they found exquisite lockets, intricately designed with figures from Indian mythology.
Armaan's eyes widened as he recognized the figure of Lord Krishna in his locket. Smriti's eyes sparkled as she saw the figure of Subhadra, Krishna's sister, in hers.
