General POV
"That was a rather interesting start to the morning," Ria commented with a frown on her face.
"Sorry, Princess. I tried to block her, but—" Lzy began apologetically.
"No, good job stalling her," Ria said as she freshened up.
"Heeh~ what were you hiding when I was stalling her, Princess?" Lzy asked, a playful glint in her eye.
"A rather rude cat," Ria smirked, taking her cup of tea.
"I didn't know the first princess kept cats," said a voice walking into the room.
"And I didn't know my bedroom had become a walk-in room for guests. Are you looking down on me, Countess Rosalia?" Ria said, sipping her tea with a raised eyebrow.
"N-No, Princess, of course not. Good day to the star of the empire," the countess replied, straightening up and bowing slightly.
"Countess Rosalia, I am worried if these are the manners you are going to teach Miss Grace," Ria asked, her tone icy.
"No, Princess, I just wanted to inform you about the same," the countess replied in a hurry, a slight tremble in her voice.
"Oh, is that so? But please refrain from entering my bedroom. You see, there are a lot of pests that enter my room but don't return alive. I don't want the same for you," Ria smiled, her eyes glinting with a hidden warning.
"I-I see, Princess. This is an invitation," the countess said, handing an invite to the aide.
"Oh, an invitation to a tea party," the princess replied, glancing at the contents with mild interest.
"I thought it would be beneficial for Miss Grace to learn from—" Countess Rosalia began, watching Ria's expression anxiously.
"That's great, but first teach your student some basic manners," Ria replied, glaring at her sharply.
"Y-yes, then I will take my leave," the countess stammered, retreating quickly.
"Oh, send my regards to your son, Countess Rosalia. I hear he is back in the capital," Ria said, smiling sweetly.
"Y-yes, Princess," the countess said, almost stumbling over her words as she left.
"Lzy, dispose of this tea. It's poisoned, as we suspected," Ria instructed her aide calmly.
"Princess, I know you are resistant to poison, but do we have to do this?" Lzy asked, frustration evident in her voice.
"What about the others?" Ria asked, a hint of concern in her eyes.
"We have checked. Don't worry," Lzy answered reassuringly.
"Spread the word that I feel sick this morning," Ria ordered, her expression hardening.
"Yes, Princess," Lzy replied, nodding.
"Princess, are you still in your nightwear? Please get ready," exclaimed Rose as she came in, hands on her hips.
"Rose, I was just receiving a guest here," Ria replied with a sigh.
"What is going on with these people entering your bedroom like it's an audience room? I will have to give a strict warning to the staff as the head maid," Rose said, her frustration palpable.
"I will leave it to you then, Head Maid Rose," Ria said, smiling gratefully.
"Yes, yes, now get up, Princess. Let's get ready," said Rose, her tone firm but affectionate.
