reiya was kept in the dunbar safe room over night just to ensure that she didn't destroy the town with her magical outbursts.

liam and nicholas slept by the door. ophelia had retreated to her original room in the house and ryder had driven back to his house before reporting to a new crime scene.

"dad, I'm telling you I have no idea what happened. they had me hooked up to this machine thing and I think there was another kid next to me but I never got a good look at their face. they didn't say anything to me except the beast shall rise," reiya informed her father.

the oldest dunbar shook his head. he knew what the doctors wanted her for and he knew who he had to go see next.

liam had already left his family home to visit his not so dead girlfriend, and ophelia followed parrish to the power station to investigate the newest beast sighting.

just as nicholas brought reiya out to the living room, scott and stiles barged into the house. the latter making a beeline for his girlfriend as he peppered kisses on her face, he didn't care that her father was glaring at him. stiles was just glad the love of his life was alive.

once nicholas bid the three teenagers goodbye and lightly threatened reiya's two best friends to protect her as if their lives depended on it, stiles jumped straight to the point of their visit. 

"you heard about the guy who got killed out at the communication towers, right?" he asked. upon seeing the girl nod, stiles continued. "I think I may have figured something out."

"wait why do you need my help?" the blonde asked. as far as she knew, scott and stiles were no longer talking to each other and her powers were almost useless.

"well scott said he can find the clues that I can't, and well you always pick up on what we miss. here, take a look." stiles pulled out his phone and played the security footage from the station, allowing his two friends to watch.

"this is when the technician first arrived. you see him going in. then deputy clark goes in. then something really big and really fast comes charging out. and now comes clark. eventually, technician's body is carried out by paramedics." he gave a play-by-play to the two werewolves.

"okay, what are we missing?" scott asked.

"two people go in. three come out." reiya whispered.

stiles nodded, pointing at his girlfriend. "I checked all the footage. not a single person enters that building before the technician the entire day. so where does that something really big and really fast come from?"

a light bulb went off in scott's head as he answered. "there's another way in."

the trio got into stiles jeep and made their way to the power station. the late night trip reminding reiya of the night the groups supernatural endeavour started with scott's wolf bite.

"you see that?" stiles asked, walking into the section the technician was found.

"I see blood."

"look where it leads to."

reiya analysed her surroundings as the two boys pushed aside a metal cabinet to find claw marks and writing.

"you guys do know I could've done that for you," she teased, watching stiles pant.

stiles tolled his eyes and shoved the girl slightly causing scott to smile at the duo. that was before he clocked the writing on the ground.

"what is that?" he brought the words to the other two's attention.

stiles shone a light over the words "it looks like latin". reiya wanted to throw up. she remembered hearing the doctors mention those words during her captivity. 

"old up that light. I'm gonna get a picture of it. stiles, hold the light still." scott complained.

reiya turned to find her boyfriend grabbing the back of his neck as he fell to the ground, paralysed by anima venom. she rushed to her friends aid, fighting against tracy as stiles alerted them of a new presence.

"scott, rey, behind you!"

scott continued fighting against tracy as he forced the girl to paralyse her pack member. reiya was on her way to try and heal stiles when she felt a presence beside her. she caught onto corey's arm before the boy could even think of doing anything.

with a flick of her wrist she exposed the boys body and sent him flying to the ground in front of his new alpha.

"okay! maybe they're not ready to take on an alpha or hybrid. especially one that can smell fear." theo made his presence known, directing the last statement to sorey.

"she can move things with her mind," he defended.

"what did you do?" scott asked.

"I found some new friends. I don't take rejection well." he smiled.

stiles mumbled about how much he hated the guy as theo continued on about his plans.

"you're going to leave here thinking that you need to worry about me. but you're wrong. we're actually back on the same side. because that thing..." he paused gesturing to the damage the beast had already done.

"that's what we need to worry about. your pack and mine. we're gonna go back to school and pretend like we're normal teenagers, but at night, we're going to be fighting for our lives." he added.

"what is it?" stiles asked from his position on the floor.

"it's not a chimera."

"but it's just a kid underneath. someone like us."

theo shook his head "not anymore." the boy paused for a bit before peering round the corner. "oh, before I leave. the pack isn't just made up of dead chimera's, we've got a wolf too," he smirked as avery walked out of the shadows.

reiya looked at her best friend "ava, w-what are you doing with him?" she asked. the younger mcccll sighed, "right now rey, theo is the only one that knows how to stop this beast and if that is how I'm gonna survive then so be it," with that, the mismatched group walked away.

time passed before scott broke the silence between the three. "he knew what it meant and I can't remember the words."

"damnatio memoriae." stiles muttered.

"It means the condemnation of memory. I think it also means that whatever the dread doctors created, whatever this last chimera really is, it's not something new. It's something old. really old." reiya added.

"so they didn't create a new creature."

"they resurrected one."

"we need help. If theo's got his own pack now then we need ours. we have to get the others back." the determination in scott's voice was evident but reiya and stiles knew the risks.

"the others? you mean kira who's currently battling a homicidal fox spirit inside of her, malia who isn't even speaking to either one of us, isaac who isn't the most helpful,  lydia who's stuck in eichen house, and liam who almost killed you?

scott gave a solemn smile to his best friends "also known as our best friends."

"okay, how?"

"one by one." scott drew the inner circle of his pack symbol, waiting for his friends to finish it.

after a slight squabble over the whole thing, reiya and stiles completed the circle. a promise to get their pack back together.

but first they needed to find kira.
