We walked in and he locked the door behind him. I sat on the bed with my shoulders back and chin up, ready to face the stings of his belt and hands.
He pulled out the chair from my studying desk and placed it infront of me then sat on it. He leaned into me and looked left and right into my eyes. "You know I love you right?" He said and caressed my cheek.
No.
I didn't respond and looked down at my lap. I know my eyes have writing on it clearly and I'm not taking any risks.
He kept staring at me and I started getting uncomfortable. Suddenly, he rised from the chair aggressively, startling me.
I still couldn't forget about what I saw at our front porch.
He opened the door and gave one last look at me before slamming it so hard that it could've broke. That was it?
I don't think that was a conversation.
I heard another door slam which sounded like the main door's, which meant he was out of the house.
I got up and walked out of the house in my hoodie. God knows how many months it has been since I've last washed it. It's a bit torn too but, that's okay. Who cares?
I put my hands in my pockets after locking the door and skipped down the 2 stairs and then I spotted the car I saw Liam and Ela get in earlier.
I walked towards it and then a guy got out from the car and started waving aggressively at me. Now I wanted to turn and walk away but something stopped me from doing that.
"Hey Leah," Liam said as I walked towards him with my head down. I slided down the hood, "Hey."
I looked through the windows of the car, Ela wasn't in there.
"Where's Ela?"
"I already dropped her off and came back here." He said and rested his elbow on the edge of the car.
"Why did you come here?"
He sucked in his lips to a thin line, "Well, I just wanted to take you to my favorite forest."
"Oh?" I said and scratched my head. I would go but, alone. I didn't want to go with anyone else.
I had a hard time blurting out the word "No" which has never happened before, "Okay."
He beamed and then took my hand then started walking with long strides. I shook my hand off, "Don't touch."
He didn't say anything and kept walking cutely like a little kid about to buy a happy meal with his pocket money.
We walked into the local park and into the greens. I've never went in there or seen anyone going there. As we walked in the forest, my eyes explored the pretty flowers and bunnies.
We came across a river with flowers lined up on the sides.
"I decorated this." Liam said and sat down on the ground beside the river. He looked up at me and tapped the space beside him. I sat down but a little more further than him.
I randomly remembered about Aunt Lucy's phone call a few days earlier and now I'm deadly inquisitive about what she meant by "Found your mom."
I can't call her now because that fucker destroyed my phone.
I noticed something on the ground on the other side of the river. I couldn't see it clearly because it was far away.
"What is that?" I asked, breaking the silence. "Where?"
I pointed to the thing, "I don't know," He said. "I always come here and roam around but I've never seen that."
This makes me curious of what it might be.
"Maybe let's check out?"
He let out a quite sigh which definitely meant a no, "Let's do it tomorrow."
His phone started ringing and then he picked it up, "Hello?"
"Okay I'll be there in ten." He said before putting the phone in his pocket. "Ela called me, our parents are back from vacation so I'll go meet them."
He stood up and dusted the soil off his jeans, "See ya." I said.
"Bye!" He sprinted into nowhere.
Wait, I don't know the way back.
"Liam wait!" I yelled but he was already out of sight. I huffed and looked around. The strange thing on the ground came in sight. I'm gonna be stuck here for a few minutes or hours, might aswell check it out.
I started walking to go to the other side of the river.
While walking, two or three bunnies started circling me and I was gonna pass out from their cuteness. I picked the brown one up and petted it as I continued walking. It fell asleep in my hands when I got to the other side and then walked towards the thing.
It felt like hours had been passed and when I finally got closer to the thing, I saw crimson all over the grass around the thing. Well, the "thing" was.. a dead body.
It was a man with wavy white hair and gray eyes in a white shirt and black jeans. His lifeless eyes stared up at the sky. His legs and arms were spread with a pocket knife on his stomach. So he was stabbed.
It looked like it happened recently because the body hadn't even started to rot yet. I put the bunny in my pocket and inched closer to the body, then kneeled to get a closer look.
He looked young, like a little older than me. He's tall.
Suddenly, I got startled by a female scream, "Oh God!"
I turned my head to see an old lady with a basket of flowers spilled at her feet. She looked petrified and then scampered away, screaming. I'm so confused.
I looked back at the body, oh. She must have thought I just stabbed this guy.
This is not good. I know a police station is just a few blocks away and it would take them like ten minutes to get here. I ran to the opposite way from the woman and into nowhere. I started hearing sirens not too long after I started running. The sounds became lower as I kept running.
I fell to my knees, panting across from an oak tree.
"Is that her?" I heard someone whisper. I slowly turned and my heart almost stopped when I saw two officers aiming pistols at me.
"H-hey sir." I said and awkwardly waved my hand.
"She doesn't look harmful." The bald officer said and lowered the gun, "Check her."
I didn't run so they wouldn't think I murdered the guy but when the officer inched closer to me, i couldn't help but sprint further into the forest.
"We got a runner!" I heard as I was running for my life. My heart started skipping beats and the lower side of my stomach stung. I fell to my knees and waited for the officer to handcuff me from behind, giving up.
No one came and when I looked behind from my shoulder, the officers were on the ground a little further away from me. I crawled towards them, my legs hurting as fuck to see them in the same position as the guy from earlier.
Legs and arms spread with a knife in their stomach except- This one was bigger and more curvy. The crimson slowly spreading stained my jeans and then someone grabbed my hair from behind, yanking me back on the ground and sprayed something in my eyes. I couldn't see the face and then I blacked out.
