"Move, over!" A voice grunted. A harsh thump followed, accompanied by a string of curses from another voice as he was so rudely forced from his spot on the ground.
The second guy swiftly recovered and shoved the tall and lanky man back, perhaps with a bit more force than necessary, reclaiming his spot again.
"Hey!" The first man cried out loud, affronted, as he stumbled to the side.
"Shhhh!!" He realized his mistake when five alarmed and apprehensive heads whipped around to hiss at him and immediately clapped a hand over his mouth.
Now forced to move into 'Formation B' thanks to him, the men ducked their heads and carefully fumbled along the ground, jostling and jabbing each other as they did so.
Today, these men were on a mission and they couldn't lose focus, nor could they afford to be caught. Because today was the day that Zhuo Zhi and Tang Zhihao were going on their first date, according to a whistleblower whose identity will remain anonymous.
Unfortunately, their trusted source didn't know exactly what time the two would have their date, so the men had gathered at the date spot at 7 in the morning, just to be safe, with He Xinglong planted outside the Tang house as a spy. And to keep an eye out for Jiale, of course, who was strictly forbidden from going within 500 feet of a distance near the date spot and the house for the whole day.
The reason- simple- Jiale talked too much. And when he talked too much, he was bound to spill something, whether purposely or not. And Siyang was unwilling to take any risks .
Speaking of Yu Qing's pillar, Mu Siyang was currently crouching at the head of the men's upside down v-formation, a strategy that specifically chosen by their data analyst, Yan Zhiming, for upmost efficiency. Also a strategy implemented by Yan Zhiming, the men were adorned in green and brown colors for camouflage clothing. Though the dark green headbands tied around the men's heads (other than Baiyang, who wore his typical bandana) were more for flair.
The gang of squatting teens ignored the scornful looks and mutters (something about teenagers these days) of an old man as he slowly hobbled past behind them with a creaky cane.
"You idiot!"
Qiao Chen sharply inhaled through his teeth as Jiale elbowed him in the rib once it was deemed 'ok', signaled by their captain's fist. Lu Xia sent him a disapproving glance as well.
Qiao Chen made sounds of protest, though they were weak and feeble. He had, after all, almost cost the boys their mission.
"Qiao Chen, Baiyang." Siyang didn't need to look at the two to know that the pair had tensed up. "Do I need to cut you two from the job too?"
"No sir," Baiyang quietly answered, while Qiao Chen grimly shook his head, afraid to open his mouth again.
"Good."
Siyang didn't speak again, instead putting a pair of binoculars to his head, so the men took it as their cue to settle down and get comfortable, since they were waiting on Dachi's text.
Today was going to be a long day.

Zhuo Zhi exhaled shakily when he saw a certain name pop up at the top of his screen, making his pulse quicken. He gave it a few seconds before tapping on her message.
Zhihao ♡:
