Song:

"Until I Found You" – Stephen Sanchez (with Em Beihold)

"I would never fall in love again until I found her

I said, "I would never fall unless it's you I fall into"

I was lost within the darkness, but then I found her

– Stephen Sanchez

A tired, worn-out Y/n held on tightly to the fussy small bundle in her arms as she rocked her baby back and forth. He'd been crying for hours, and the bags under her eyes were becoming more prominent with how many sleepless nights she'd gone through. Her hair was a mess, she'd barely even had time to shower today. At this point, she was sure she'd be kicked out of this new home they were staying in. No matter what she did, he wouldn't stop crying. It's like he got louder the harder she tried to settle him.

Why wouldn't anyone ever talk about the hardships of motherhood, no one prepared her for this?

When the lights turned on in the nursery room, she cringed from the bright light burning her bloodshot retinas. Her eyes stung with sensitivity. Blinking a couple of times, she tried to moisten her eyes that felt like sandpaper. Still, she tried to focus on her task of rocking her baby back to sleep. Cooing at him and trying to feed one of the bottles she barely managed to grab from the kitchen in her sleep-induced brain. Yet, he wouldn't relent. He refused to attach his little mouth to the suction. He didn't want to be fed. He didn't have to be changed. So, what was it that he needed?

"I'm sorry for waking you," she called out over her shoulder. Shame making her body feel heavier than sleep deprivation. "I can't make him stop."

She was so tired.

Whoever said motherhood was the happiest and rewarding job in the world, was lying. Why didn't anyone ever talk about how hard it was to take care of a small human being. At this point, she was going to go insane for how sleep deprived she was. She was still recovering from childbirth and learning the ways of motherhood. No wonder mothers went a tad bit crazy overtime. If they barely had any time to take care of their children and themselves, how the hell did they make it through life? And she thought she could do this alone? Was she insane?

This was so much more than she imagined.

She always felt like she was being a terrible mother because she couldn't do everything at once. She didn't know if she was doing anything right. She never wanted to be away from her baby, but she needed proper rest and wanting that space always made her feel horrible for thinking that way. Shouldn't a mother want to be with their baby twenty-four/seven, was there something wrong with her?

She felt the strong presence of the giant number one hero stand beside her, interrupting her negative thoughts. And when she looked up at him, Izuku Midoriya smiled kindly at her.

Emerald eyes shined with care and empathy. Already extending his arms towards her baby, he asked softly, "may I?"

Y/n glanced down at the fussy baby in her arms again, doubt painting her face.

Izuku's voice assured softly, "you're doing the best you can, you are a wonderful mother who is learning. Let me help you, that's why I'm here."

Not thinking about it too much and before she could topple over in exhaustion. She nodded to his request. Carefully handing her baby to him. The green haired hero with such care and delicate movements, held on to him and just like magic, the tall man was able to rock her baby into submission and fed him so easily. That in an instant he went back to sleep. He didn't even have to try.
