Taehyung waited infront of the gates of a boarding school nervously looking around him from time to time. He clutched tight onto his gun with one hand and used the other to calm his rapidly beating heart, putting it over his chest. September wasn't too cold to be freezing to death but standing all alone in the middle of the night while knowing that the whole country's legal and illegal forces were after him made it feels like he could freeze to death. Luck hadn't been on Taehyung and Jungkook's side for the past 2 days.
Right after landing on Korea with their luggages in the international airport, they had found police looking for them.
Confusion raised in their heads as they thought Namjoon had already informed the police department of their missions. As they hid from the sight of people involved in security departments carrying whatever luggages they could bring, breaking news flashed from the news channel.
"Deputy Commissioner Police of the Seoul Police Department has been martyred while running a raid in Mumbai, where V was said to be present.."
Taehyung stared at the screen in horror and the news continued.
"Despite V's whereabouts being unknown as he got away like always, a surprising event has occured as it reported that V was the one to lead the police force into the venue, declaring betrayal to the mafia empire"
Taehyung looked at Jungkook and saw equal horror in his face. Both Jungkook and Taehyung's betrayals had already been spread in the underworld and to make the matter even worse, there was no one left to clear their names so they could seek protection from the police.
They were doomed.
After 2 days of staying on the run, Taehyung had received a phone call while they were sitting by a lake eating rice cakes bought from the savings they collected while being in the mafia. He walked away from Jungkook to a more isolated place to talk. Jungkook didn't bother much about it. He trusted Taehyung now and he knew they were both in the same situation so wherever Taehyung went or whatever he did, Jungkook would follow him and do the same.
Taehyung returned after 5 minutes and said to Jungkook,
"We're going to a Boarding School to pick up someone. I need your help"
And Jungkook asked no questions.
Back to present, Taehyung felt a wave of relief when he saw Jungkook walking back towards him carrying a small sleeping boy. He made sure to cover the boy with a blanket and brought along the boy's belongings. This could be termed as a kidnapping case, but they already had tons of crimes charged upon their heads, one more should be nothing.
Taehyung immediately took the boy into his arms and kissed his hair as tried to seek comfort from hugging his small body.
"Oh Junie..."
Jungkook smiled tiredly at the scene. Taehyung had already told him about the little boy he had taken under his wings.
Taehyung could use the people from his hometown to prove his innocence but that'd mean the Mafias would reach to them as well and use them to blackmail Taehyung. Before any of it happened, Taehyung had to make sure of Junie's safety first thing first. They had already found a shelter so taking Junie along with them was the right thing to do.
The ones giving them shelter were Jung Hoseok and Park Jimin.
They are V's trustworthy friends who aren't involved in the syndicate. So they cared less about V betraying the mafia and more about V's safety. Despite having to pretend to be perpetrators for a bit longer, being in a secured place was better than being on the run with no ends.
