chapter 5 The unwanted guest.

The energon mines were bustling with activity, but not just from Blackout's silent operations. Airachnid's solitary work was about to get some unexpected company. Blackout, ever vigilant, continued to expand his army of clones, but now he had to contend with a new challenge.

As Airachnid worked tirelessly, a familiar voice echoed through the mine.

Tarantulas: Well, well, sister dear, it looks like you've been busy. Need a hand with all this energon?

Airachnid looked up, a mixture of annoyance and mild relief crossing her face.

Airachnid: Tarantulas, what are you doing here? I thought you were stationed at the northern sector.

Tarantulas: I was, but I got transferred to help with the mining operations here. They said you could use an extra pair of hands. Or eight.

He chuckled at his own joke, his multiple limbs clicking together as he approached. Tarantulas was known for his eccentricity, but his efficiency in the mines was unmatched.

Blackout, observing from his hidden vantage point, knew he had to act fast. The presence of Tarantulas meant increased scrutiny and a higher risk of discovery. He quickly relayed instructions to his clones through the system.

Blackout: System, initiate silent relocation protocol. All clones must move to less conspicuous areas and avoid detection at all costs.

SYSTEM: Affirmative. Initiating silent relocation protocol.

The clones, already designed for stealth and efficiency, began to disperse silently. They moved deeper into the mines, hiding behind rocks, machinery, and in shadows. Their tiny forms blended seamlessly with the environment, making them nearly invisible to the naked eye.

As Tarantulas set up his equipment, he couldn't help but notice the discarded tools and broken machinery.

Tarantulas: What a mess. Doesn't anyone take care of the equipment around here? No wonder they needed me.

Airachnid shrugged, continuing her work.

Airachnid: Maintenance has been sloppy, as usual. Just focus on your task and don't get in my way.

Blackout watched as the two siblings settled into their routine. He needed to find a new base of operations, away from their prying eyes. He directed a few of his drones to scout ahead, searching for a more secluded section of the mine where he could continue his work undisturbed.

The drones, equipped with advanced scanners, quickly found a promising location: a narrow tunnel that led to a hidden chamber. The chamber was rich with energon deposits and far enough from the main mining area to avoid detection.

Blackout: Perfect. System, relocate all operations to the hidden chamber. Ensure the clones and drones move silently and efficiently.

SYSTEM: Understood. Relocating operations.

As the clones and drones moved to their new location, Blackout felt a sense of urgency. He couldn't afford any mistakes. The hidden chamber would serve as a temporary base, but he needed to remain cautious.

Back in the main area of the mine, Tarantulas was already making himself at home, using his many limbs to operate multiple tools simultaneously. Airachnid, despite her irritation, had to admit he was effective.

Tarantulas: You know, sister, this place isn't so bad. We might actually get this done ahead of schedule.

Airachnid: Just stay out of my way, Tarantulas. I don't need you messing up my workflow.
