chapter 7 limited range.

Blackout's army of clones and drones had grown exponentially, working tirelessly in the shadows to gather resources and enhance their capabilities. The energon mine was bustling with activity, but Blackout remained vigilant, knowing that detection by the larger Cybertronians would jeopardize his plans.

Blackout: System, I need to test how far the larger bots can detect my clones and drones. I need to understand their sensory ranges to optimize my operations and avoid detection.

SYSTEM: Understood. Initiating testing protocols. Deploy a small number of clones and drones at varying distances from Airachnid and Tarantulas.

Blackout selected a few of his micro-drones and clones, instructing them to position themselves at different distances from the duo, who were busy mining energon. Airachnid and her brother, Tarantulas, were focused on their work, seemingly oblivious to the tiny intruders around them.

Blackout: Drones, maintain your positions and record any signs of detection or response from Airachnid and Tarantulas.

The drones moved into place, some close enough to touch the larger bots, while others stayed further away, hiding in the shadows. Blackout observed closely through the eyes of his drones, analysing the reactions of the two Cybertronians.

Airachnid: This new batch of energon is looking good. We need to make sure it's properly processed and stored.

Tarantulas: Agreed. But I can't shake the feeling that we're being watched. Something feels off.

Blackout watched as Tarantulas scanned the area, his optics flickering with suspicion. The drones closest to him remained perfectly still, their cloaking systems engaged. Despite Tarantulas' heightened awareness, he did not seem to detect the tiny intruders.

Blackout: Interesting. Tarantulas is more perceptive than Airachnid, but he still hasn't spotted my drones. Let's move some of them closer and see if he reacts.

The drones inched closer, their movements almost imperceptible. Blackout monitored their progress, ready to recall them at the first sign of trouble. Tarantulas paused, his optics narrowing as he scanned the area more intently.

Tarantulas: I swear, something's out there. We need to be cautious.

Airachnid: You're always so paranoid, brother. Let's just focus on our work.

Despite Tarantulas' suspicions, he could not pinpoint the exact location of the drones. Blackout noted this, understanding that while the larger bots could sense something was amiss, their detection capabilities had limits.

Blackout: System, what can we infer from this?

SYSTEM: The larger bots have a heightened awareness of their surroundings, especially Tarantulas. However, their ability to detect smaller entities like your drones and clones is limited. Maintaining a distance of approximately three to five meters should keep your units undetected.

Blackout: Good. This information is invaluable. Let's push the limits a bit more.

He instructed a few drones to move within two meters of Tarantulas, testing the very edge of their detection range. As the drones approached, Tarantulas suddenly turned, his optics locking onto one of the closest drones.

Tarantulas: There! I saw something move!

Airachnid: You're seeing things. There's nothing there.

Tarantulas moved towards the drone, but it quickly retreated, blending into the shadows before he could get a good look. Frustrated, he resumed his work, but his vigilance had increased.
