DAY 3 OF EXILE
❁ GARGI'S POV❁
The elderly woman looked at me, with suspicious eyes. She narrowed her eyes to study my features. Following a moment of awkward silence, she adjusted her glasses and nodded a yes.
"You are given the car keys. Sign these papers " She handed over another contract for working in her company as a taxi driver.
I thoroughly read and signed them.
Finally! I got a job as a taxi driver. Call taxi services were provided too.
"Cangaroo Cars" I chuckled at the cute name.
"You can have the car for day and night" She snorted suddenly.
It was an old ambassador car, though maintained well, of course. Along with screen displaying GPS location, my life too, seemed to be moving a little forward.
"Your first ride is here! Pick them up from this location and drop them here," The woman explained to me showing the GPS map.
She was treating me like a child, who did not know what GPS was.
I was already contented and happy since she had given me the job. So, I just listened to her carefully, trying not to offend or hurt her.
Though I was new to the city, I had mustered up courage to drive around, since all I had was my driving license and money of Rs.4980.
I ray of hope entered me as I got down the car and had my breakfast.
After two whole days of wandering around like a lost ghost, and hitting goons, I was able to breathe.
I began picking up and dropping people at their desired destinations. I earned something, this one day.

A few hours passed by. I took a nap inside the car for a few minutes, considering the next drive or what they called as 'savari' would not come this early.
I had finally got a place to sleep. Although my neck muscles were tightened and painful, I was really thankful for whatever I had at that point.
I looked at my face in the rearview mirror, touching my cheeks . I was sure I had lost a lot of weight in these two days.
"I will eat only once in a day, that would save about two hundred roughly," I mumbled, calculating the expenses.
