Dear Writers and Readers,

I'm addressing you today as the host of The Grand Masquerade of Writing Awards, and I know many of you are aware of the recent issue surrounding the results, particularly in the Paranormal/Supernatural category.

I want to express my deepest regret for releasing the results today. In all honesty, I foresaw potential chaos, which is why I held off announcing the Paranormal/Supernatural winner for a significant period.

As a fellow BTS fanfic writer, I understand and share the hurt feelings surrounding this situation. However, as the host, I felt a strong responsibility to maintain transparency in the results. My initial thought was to address this privately with the writer and the judge, but I worried it might be misconstrued as manipulating the outcome. This internal conflict troubled me for days, leaving me unsure of the best course of action.

A sudden family event requiring my immediate attention added another layer of complexity. Just last night, I received a message from the writer inquiring about the delayed announcement for the Paranormal/Supernatural category.

Faced with the pre-existing delay and the writer's inquiry, I made a difficult decision. Knowing the results had been delayed for a significant time already, I felt it was crucial to release them before going offline for several days due to the family emergency. Additionally, I wanted to put the actual results in the public domain before taking any impulsive actions. It's crucial to gather everyone's perspectives before moving forward. As fellow award show hosts know, unilateral decisions can offend judges and participants, leading to accusations of manipulated results.

However I would refrain myself from making an decisive statement for now before hearing from the judge involved. Their perspective is crucial in determining the appropriate course of action. Rest assured, necessary steps will be taken based on the findings.

Let me assure the affected writers: Your talent and dedication are undeniable. The stories you craft hold immense power, and your passion for writing is truly inspiring.

This recent situation doesn't diminish your worth as a writer. The judging process is complex, and sometimes unforeseen circumstances arise. However, I want you to know that I take this issue very seriously. Releasing the results today was a difficult decision, but transparency is paramount in The Grand Masquerade. Now that the information is public, we can gather all perspectives – yours, the writer's, and the judge's – to understand the situation fully.

I want to apologize on behalf of the judge for any emotional pain caused today. As a BTS fanfic writer and the host of this event, I share in that regret. Furthermore, I want to apologize, as a host, I failed to conduct the awards in a way that ensured complete satisfaction.

I understand this issue has caused disappointment and frustration. My goal is to ensure fairness and transparency in The Grand Masquerade Awards.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. I look forward to hearing your thoughts and working together to find a resolution that upholds the integrity of the competition.

Sincerely,

Host, The Grand Masquerade of Writing Awards
