"That's my girl," he called out, surprising Elena and causing her to gasp out in shock.
"Klaus," Elena stuttered out.
She hardly had the chance to turn and take two steps before Klaus moved, speeding in front of her, "You're supposed to be dead. What are we gonna do about that?"
"Clearly, Klaus, she's a ghost here to haunt you," Isabella remarked dryly, crossing her arms and giving Elena a knowing look.
Klaus shot Isabella a glare. "This is hardly the time for jokes, Bella."
Klaus's voice was firm and commanding as he addressed the students in the gym. Elena stood beside him, tense and apprehensive, while Isabella watched silently from behind, her expression unreadable but cautious.
"Attention, seniors," Klaus called out, dropping his American accent as he entered the room. The students paused, looking at him with varying degrees of confusion and concern. "Prank Night is over. Head on home."
The students groaned, reluctantly starting to disperse. Among them, two caught Klaus's attention—a girl named Dana and a boy named Chad.
"I remember you," Klaus said pointedly, his gaze piercing as he singled them out.
"Sorry, who are you?" Dana asked, clearly puzzled by Klaus's demeanor.
Klaus's expression hardened slightly, his tone turning more serious. "Wasn't in my right head last time we met."
He stepped closer to Dana, his presence intimidating. "Lift your foot up, please."
Dana hesitated, uncertain of what Klaus meant, but under his compelling gaze, she obeyed and lifted her foot.
"If she drops her foot, Chad," Klaus continued, his voice chillingly calm, "I want you to beat her to death. Understood?"
Isabella stepped forward, her voice cutting through the tense air like a blade. "Klaus, you can't do this. They're innocent. We can't just..." Her words faltered briefly under Klaus's intense gaze, but she steadied herself and walked in front of Dana and Chad and siphoned their compulsion. "Go. Forget about this." She compelled them.
"You're such a buzzkill, love," Klaus remarked with a smirk, causing Isabella to roll her eyes as she walked over to sit beside Leo.
"Where's Stefan?" Elena demanded, her voice tinged with worry. "What did you do to him?"
"Stefan's on a timeout," Klaus replied casually, crossing his arms over his chest.
Suddenly, the doors burst open, and all three turned to see Bonnie and Matt entering.
"Bonnie, get out of here!" Elena shouted, her concern deepening. But before Bonnie could react, Klaus blurred across the room, cutting off any escape.
"I've been waiting for your arrival. Now we can begin. I assume you're the reason Elena's still walking around alive," Klaus remarked, his tone laced with amusement.
