Can she get out?

Chapter 1~ Background

Angela had been in a relationship with  Zach for about 3 years. Everyone knew about their relationship, they thought they wandered a great couple and they always seemed happy around each other but no one knew what happened behind closed doors. After about a year of being together Zach started to get physical with Angela. Every time she would come home late she would get a beating, whenever she back talked she would get a beating. But one night things took a turn for the worse. Angela had been working extra long hours since she was a detective. She had came home 5 hours late because she was working on a child abduction. When she came through the door that night Zach stormed furiously over to her. She smelt the alcohol on his breath and in the apartment. But what he did was unexpected. He'd beat her until she was unconscious and the proceeded to rape her. Thus came the product of Lilian Grace Lopez, Angela's daughter.

Angela had a cryptic pregnancy so no one at the station knew she was pregnant or even had a child. She swore to keep it a secret because she didn't want everyone to know she had been raped. People would treat and look at her differently. But if they saw her home situation, what she dealt with everyday at home people would look at her like she's weak. She goes to work everyday and puts on a strong brave face but Dee down she was drowning. People at the station looked up to Angela because of her amazing work and attitude she did and had as a detective. People wanted to be like her, Angela thought it was sweet but deep down she didn't want anyone to be like her. She hardly shows emotion, she doesn't want anyone to know she's broken.

Angela always swore to never let Zach lay a hand on Lilian. Anytime he would try and hit her Angela stepped in front of it. Getting it 10x worse. Angela knew she had it be strong to get her daughter out of that toxic household. Lilian saw Zach hit Angela lots of times. Angela tried to shield her from it but Zach would go off anytime. Angela always told Lilian to close her eyes or go to her room and lock the door. Lilian was 3 years old. Angela taught her Spanish so they could communicate without Zach knowing what they were saying. Lilian was Angela's whole world she loved that girl to death and would do anything for her. Even if it meant dying just to protect her child. Angela had tried to escape from him one time but that resulted in getting one of the worse beatings of her life. He had even dragged a knife across her rib to show her what he would do if he tried to leave.

He would always make comments on her looks and weigh which made Angela develop an Eating Disorder over time. She had lost a lot of weight over time and had always wore baggy clothes because she didn't want anyone to notice. Angela knew some way somehow she had to get out of that house. Not for her but for her daughter's sake.
