Chapter 3~ Daddys hitting mama again

Zach had just left for work and I could barely move. My body was hurting so much. This pain was worser than getting shot. It was already 7 o clock. I'm supposed to be at work in 30 minutes but how am I supposed to go to work if I can barely move. I pick my phone up and call Grey asking for a personal which he agrees. I drag myself out of bed limping with every step I take. Every step is getting heavier and heavier. Once I get into the bathroom I turn the water on and start to undress so I can take a shower. I'm looking in the mirror at my reflection and hate what I see. I have bruises and cuts all over my body. Multiple cuts on my rib cage. Bruises on my stomach, small bruises going up and down my arms, bruises on my inter thighs from when he forced my legs open. a hand print on my face and bruises around my neck. God I looked broken.  I hated what i see in the mirror, it was a broken and weak reflection of me. I would've never imagined to see this version of my self. I hate this version of myself.

After scrubbing my skin raw i put on a hoodie, some shorts and throw my hair in a bun before I cook breakfast. I decided on pancakes and eggs as its Lilians favorite. The house stunk of  alcohol and there were a few food stains on the walls from when Zach would throw his plates. I sigh deeply before i go wake Lilian up. sweetheart it's time to wake up, I say rubbing her cheek. i'm sleepy, she mumbles moving a little. I made breakfast, I say softly and with that she sits right up. pancakes and eggs, she asks rubbing her eyes. yes now come on before they're cold, I say while laughing. mama why does daddy hit you, she asks me while she eats her breakfast. The question caught me off guard. I didn't know how to respond to it, it caught me completely off guard. I don't know baby, I say while throwing the rest of my food away.  we're gonna leave soon right, she asks me. very soon baby very soon, I say kissing her forehead. so mama has the day off how about we watch movies all day, I say while smiling.  yea and can i do you're hair pretty please, she says jumping up and down excitedly. sure baby just let me brush my hair, I say while laughing. i brush my hair and blow dry it, then we get some snacks and head to the couch. we decided on Tangled. Lilian decides she wants to braid my hair but doesn't know how so I end up teaching her. She puts my hair in one braid with a few pieces of hair hanging out with the braid going down my back, mama you have to keep it in, she says while pointing her finger at me. i will baby, I say laughing. we sit on the couch cuddled up watching tons of movies embracing the quality time we were spending together.

Lucy's POV
It had already been an hour since work started and Angela's desk was still empty. I started to get worried thinking that Zach had hurt her again. I wish she would tell someone so we could get her help. Hey Nyla have you seen or heard from Angela, I ask her. No why what's going on, she asks. She has some stuff going on and i just wanna make sure she's okay, but i haven't seen or heard from her, I say with a deep sigh. Talk to grey, if you don't mind me asking what's going on with Angela, she asks. It's not really my place to say, I say unsure on how to address the situation. That's understandable just let me know if she's okay, Nyla says. I will, I say with a smile as i head off to Grey's office. I knock on the door and wait until I hear Grey say come in. Hey Lucy what can I do for you, he says closing a case file. Have you heard from Angela at all, I ask worriedly. Yes she called in for a personal day why, he asks curious. Just wanted to make sure she's okay, I say with a slight smile. Anything i should know, he asks. When I know for sure I'll let you know, I say with a smile and he nods his head as i walk out of his office.

Angela's POV
Me and Lilian were about to drift off to sleep when my phone started ringing. Mama who is it, Lilian asks. Just lucy baby, I say while ruffing her hair up. Mama stop, she says while laughing. I start laughing with her before I pick the phone up.

Angela- hey lucy  what's up
Lucy - hey i heard you took a personal day just checking on you
Angela- yea i'm fine thanks for checking on my though
Lucy- ang you never take personal days what happened
Angela- if anything happens you'll be my first call i promise
Lucy- if i see so much as the tiniest bruise on you i won't hesitate to kill him angela and i'm serious, please be safe
Angela- i will see you tomorrow

Mama what did lucy want, Lilian asks curious. She just wanted to make sure i was okay, I say with a smile. i wanna meet lucy you talk about her a lot, Lilian says with a smile. you will baby and since were talking about Lucy i want you to do something for me okay, I say and she nods her head. Anytime me and you're daddy are arguing or if you see him about to him me I want you to get my phone and call Lucy, I'm gonna start giving you my phone anytime your dad is here just in case okay,. I say. Lucy's gonna help us leave, she asks with a big smile on her face. Yea baby i just have to talk to her, I say returning the smile. when are you gonna talk to her, she asks curious. I'm gonna talk to her tomorrow when i get to work baby, we're gonna leave i promise, I say as I kiss her forehead.

We were woken by up by the door slamming. Angela, Zach yells. What, I say a little annoyed as I stand up. He starts walking towards me and I can smell the alcohol on him. He punches me and my stomach before throwing me on the floor, who the hell do you think you're talking to, he yells standing over me. Cariño, ve a tu habitación y llévate mi teléfono contigo ( Sweetheart go to your room and take my phone with you), I say to Lilian. Pero mamá te está haciendo daño( but mama he's hurting you), Lilian says while tears run down her face. Está bien, cariño, haz lo que te dije( it's okay baby do what i told you), I say to her and she runs off to the bed room and i head her door lock. What the hell did you say to her, he says as he kicks me in my ribs. I bit my lip holding back the pain. I told her to go to her room, I muttered out. you said something else i'm not stupid, he yells as he repeatedly hits me. No i didn't, I yell.

Meanwhile with Lilian
Lilian goes to her room and hides in her closet sobbing because of the face her dad was beating her mom and she couldn't do anything about it. She did what Angela told her to do with trembling hands she unlocked the phone and called Lucy.

Lucy's POV
I was in my car on the way home when i got a call from Angela. I was worried because it was around 8 at night and she normally didn't call this late.

Lucy- ang what's wrong you normally don't call me this late
Lilian- my daddy's hitting my mama again
On the other end it's not Angela speaking it's a child and she crying and heavily breathing.
Lucy- sweetheart can you tell me your name and your moms name for me
Lilian-  my names Lilian and my moms name is Angela
My heart dropped. Angela had a child. That's why she said it was complicated.
Lucy- okay Lilian i'm almost there can you tell me where you are in the house
Lilian- i'm in my closet
Lucy- okay stay there for me and don't move i'll be there in 2 minutes
Lilian- Lucy please hurry i'm scared
Lucy- i'm almost there sweetie
Just then i heard an ear piercing scream and i knew without a doubt it was Angela. I started driving faster and my heart started beating faster.
Lilian- he's hurting her Lucy hurry please
Lucy- I'm pulling up now Lilian stay on the phone
I heard two gunshots and then the line disconnected and my whole world crashed.
