Emily's POV.

The weather is very hot today.

The film crew is in chaos because the supporting actress, playing a company executive, slipped in the bathroom last night and was sent to the hospital, where she was diagnosed with a fracture.

The crew was forced to stop working, and every minute that passes represents a significant financial loss.

The atmosphere on set is quite tense. The producer yells at the director, and then the director yells at the casting director because they can't find a replacement actress on short notice.

Meanwhile, I am hiding in the corner, trying to blend in with the background, enjoying a rare half-day break.

Cayden suddenly appears in front of me.

"What are you doing here?" I'm startled.

He hands me a cup of iced coffee. "I texted you."

I look at my phone and see it's on silent mode, so I didn't notice the message.

"Where's Natalie?" I ask.

"She's with Hunter. I'm going to pick her up after I bring you the coffee. So don't accuse me of neglecting my duties."

I smile. After finishing my coffee, I go to throw away the trash. When I come back, Cayden is still there, looking at me as if he wants to say something.

"Is there something else?" I ask.

"Well..."

"Did you make Natalie cry? Or secretly give her candy aagain and are now ready to confess?" I raise an eyebrow.

Natalie can't live without candy.

I told Cayden to control her sugar intake last week, but I still found a candy wrapper in the trash at home.

"You know?" He looks startled.

"Did you think you hid it well?"

"I'm sorry, Well, But that's not what I wanted to talk about." Cayden's voice suddenly drops. "Did you see anyone familiar on set?"

"Familiar?" I think for a moment and shake my head.

I've been in the screenwriting industry for two years, and this is my first time working on a film set, so I don't know many people except the director.

"I'm leaving now. Good luck with your work." Cayden looks relieved and waves goodbye.

I watch his back, thinking he's acting strange.

The next day, when Sophia appears on set, I finally understand Cayden's odd behavior yesterday.

The director leads the entire team in warmly welcoming Sophia. She was originally working on the set next door, and news travels fast in the film studio. After hearing that our crew urgently needed a female supporting actor, she volunteered to join us.

But where there are people, there is gossip.

When I go to the bathroom, I hear two girls chatting outside the stall.

"Sophia debuted as a Hollywood lead actress, why would she suddenly come to our small crew to play a supporting role?"

"You don't know."

I recognize the voice answering as the makeup artist from our crew.

The makeup artist says, "A colleague in Hollywood told me that she actually had no projects there, so she came back."

"Didn't her last movie do well?"

"Nowadays, talent isn't the most important thing. You need connections and resources."
