"Unnie."
"Unnie, wake up."
I stir in my sleep, slowly opening my eyes groggily. I look around and realize I'm in someone's luxury car. I turn and see Haerin standing by the open door, watching me closely.
"Haerin?" I mumble, frowning.
How long has she been watching me? Gosh, she's scary sometimes. Good thing she has a pretty face, so it's not as intimidating.
A devil with a pretty face, huh?
"We've arrived. Do you not want to go home?" she asks in her usual monotone voice.
I rub my eyes, then realize her coat is draped over me so perfectly. It's soft and smells just like her, no wonder I was having the best sleep of my life.
I blush at the thought of her opening her coat and draping it over me while I slept. She's surprisingly attentive. I touch my face, feeling the heat radiating.
Ah, what's wrong with me?
"Unnie," she calls me again.
I look at her and see how annoyed her face is. Sheesh, she really looks like an annoyed cat, which is the cutest thing on earth!
"Oh, sorry!" I quickly hand her the coat.
She takes the coat a moment later before backing away, giving me space to get out of the car.
Unnie.
Why does she use a formal term with me and call me that? She could just call me by my name. Is it really a Korean tradition or—
"Can you walk home?"
Her question jolts me back to reality, realizing I've been standing and staring at her like a freak for a while now.
She arches her eyebrows, still in her usual position with both arms crossed. And oh my, those two undone buttons on her white shirt are driving me insane!
"Yeah, yeah..." I look away awkwardly. "I can walk home. Thank you for the drive anyway."
If it weren't for her, I would normally take a taxi, or worse, have Ryan drive me home, which is not really safe compared to being with her.
"Good. You better go now since you can walk, or else I'll carry you," she threatens.
My face heating up as our eyes meet again. Gosh, she really loves teasing me! Not that I mind being carried, though.
"No, no, no. I'll walk. Walking is so much better," I quickly take some steps.
"Good."
Then, I look back at her. Her eyes have returned to their usual piercing stare as if she wants to kill someone. Ah, good, a normal Haerin then.
Slowly, I walk back to her and tiptoe, placing a kiss on her cheek. Her eyes soften as she watches me, not saying anything. I can feel her hand on my hip for a moment, and it sends a jolt of electricity through me. Damn it, her touch is really something.
"Goodnight, Haerin," I wish her, smiling sheepishly even though I know I will never get a smile from her.
As I walk away, I hear her saying in the softest tone, "Goodnight, sunshine."
