One week later

Lisa decided to stay at Rosé's condo for a while after leaving the mansion. It had been a week since she left, and she hadn't come back. Her days were consumed by work, while Rosé tirelessly searched for a ballet company that would take her back. However, her past negligence made it difficult to find a company willing to give her a chance. Despite her struggles, Rosé kept trying.

In the mornings, Lisa would bury herself in work, attending meetings and handling the responsibilities of Manoban Enterprise Hotel. Yet, her colleagues, especially Seulgi, noticed a change in her. Lisa was quieter, often lost in thought, her mind elsewhere even during important meetings. Seulgi could see that Lisa missed Jennie but was too in denial to admit it.

Lisa and Rosé's relationship had also changed. The once sweet and affectionate Lisa was now distant. She spent most evenings on the balcony, sipping wine and staring into the night. Rosé noticed the change but chose not to confront Lisa, letting her be.

Lisa continued to send unnecessary—baby items secretly to Jennie through Seulgi, who had become an unofficial messenger. Every day, Seulgi checked on Jennie at the mansion and reported back to Lisa, keeping her updated on Jennie's condition.

One afternoon, Lisa was walking alone outside when she landed upon a baby store. She paused, her eyes landing on a rubber duck. A smile crept across her face as she thought of her unborn child. She bought the duck and hurried back to the company for an urgent meeting.

After the meeting, Lisa sat in her executive chair, playing with the rubber duck, a rare smile on her face.

Seulgi entered the office, her expression serious. She approached Lisa, who looked up with a playful grin. "This is for Jennie," Lisa said, holding up the rubber duck.

Seulgi frowned, "What is it?"

Lisa's eyes twinkled with a childlike excitement. "It's a rubber duck, a toy. An innovative toy, you can put it into hot water. If the water is too hot, it'll go 'quack, quack, quack,' so it won't burn the baby's bottom," she explained, demonstrating as if she were a kid explaining to her mother.

Seulgi remained serious, her tone sarcastic. "Yeah, quack quack."

Lisa's smile faded as she shifted the topic, placing the rubber duck on the table. "Hey, you said recently, Jennie's appetite hasn't been good, right? How about this, I'll give you the day off today. Just contact the chef to make steamed pork buns with wasabi on top and other things according to Jennie's cravings, okay?"

Seulgi sighed, "Reporting to Miss Manoban, Hwejangnim has already asked the chef about that."

"It doesn't hurt to make more," Lisa pouted, sitting on the table with a childlike demeanor. Seulgi shook her head.

"Ms. Manoban, ever since you ran away from home last week, there's only been one job left for me: reporting to you about what Jennie has eaten, drank, whether she sleeps well, and what she said. Oh, and I get days off to contact the best chef to make steamed pork buns with wasabi on top," Seulgi said sarcastically. Lisa couldn't meet Seulgi's eyes, guilt evident in her expression.

Seulgi continued, "Ms. Manoban, if you really care about her, why don't you call her yourself?"

Lisa rolled her eyes, taking a deep breath. "It wasn't easy for Rosé to forgive what happened between me and Jennie. Finding a point of balance between the three of us. For me, Rosé as well as Jennie, this is the best state."

Seulgi walked around the office, Lisa's eyes following her every move. "Oh, I get it. Meaning that Miss Rosé will continue to distrust you. As for that little snail, Jennie Kim, she'll continue like a zombie. And Ms. Manoban, your situation is simple: to upset both sides and get rejected by both sides, which is so-called 'best state,'" Seulgi said sarcastically.
