"Lisa?"
"What the actual fuck."
"What are you doing here?" Jennie blurted out before she could stop herself.
Master Miller, noticing the tension in Jennie's voice, glanced between the two women with a curious look. "You know her?"
Jennie quickly plastered on a fake smile, trying to mask her emotions. "No, I don't."
Master Miller chuckled, clearly sensing the discomfort but choosing to lighten the mood. "Alright, Ruby Jane, have a seat." He gestured to the chair across from Lisa.
Jennie hesitated for a split second before sitting down, her mind racing.
As Jennie placed the bouquet on the table beside her, Master Miller's eyes caught it, a knowing smile spreading across his face. "Where did that bouquet come from?"
Jennie's smile widened, the kind that doesn't quite reach the eyes. Before she could answer, Master Miller raised a hand. "Let me guess, it's from Jin, isn't it?"
Jennie merely nodded, maintaining her smile.
A soft chuckle escaped Lisa's lips. "Liar" she whispered to herself. Jennie and Master Miller both turned to look at her.
Lisa quickly stopped laughing, her expression composed, but Jennie could feel the mockery behind it. She shot Lisa a glare that clearly asked, "What's so funny?"
Sensing the growing tension, Master Miller let out a hearty laugh, trying to dispel the heavy atmosphere. "Anyway," he said, turning his attention back to Jennie, "Let me introduce the two of you properly."
Jennie kept her gaze averted, unable to meet Lisa's eyes. "She's from Asia's biggest hotel and winery company, currently expanding here in New York," Master Miller continued, his tone filled with admiration. "This is the president of Manoban Winery and Manoban Enterprise Hotel, President Lisa Manoban."
Jennie mustered another fake smile, nodding as Master Miller spoke. He seemed genuinely pleased to be making the introduction, and Lisa, ever the professional, smiled graciously as she looked at Master Miller.
"And this," Master Miller said with pride, pointing out Jennie "Is my most helpful assistant and direct disciple, Ruby Jane. You two should get to know each other."
Lisa turned to Jennie, her smile unwavering, and extended her hand. "Hello."
Jennie felt her stomach twist in annoyance but managed to maintain her composure.
She rolled her eyes subtly, not wanting to shake Lisa's hand. Master Miller, catching her reluctance, gave her a sharp look. "Ruby Jane, what is it?"
Jennie sighed, knowing she had no choice but to play along. "Hello," she said tersely, barely brushing Lisa's hand with her own before pulling back.
Lisa, unbothered, smiled and withdrew her hand, hiding any reaction to Jennie's coldness.
Master Miller let out a small sigh, clearly aware of the tension but determined to smooth things over. He turned to Lisa with a warm smile. "Rest assured, Manoban Winery's first entry into the New York market is a very important endeavor. I will definitely help you. I won't let you be troubled over this."
"Thank you, Master Miller," Lisa replied, her tone respectful as she gave a slight bow.
Jennie, unable to suppress her curiosity and irritation, cut in. "Master, what exactly are you helping Manoban Winery with?"
Lisa, ever poised, turned to Jennie with a calm, professional demeanor. "I need a special souvenir, a small gift for my important investors. It will help me a lot with expanding my business, especially since it's a special edition."
