A Grandfather's Intervention
Grandpa Jeon, also known as Dad to Minho, called his son with a specific request. "Minho, I need to talk to you about something important. I want you to break off Jungkook and Hewoon's engagement."
Minho was taken aback, thinking that Jungkook was behind the request. "Dad, I think Jungkook is pressuring you to call me. He's not happy about the engagement, but I thought we had discussed this already."
Grandpa Jeon chuckled. "No, Minho, this is my own decision. I've observed Hewoon's behavior around Jungkook, and I'm not impressed. She's not the right girl for him. I want you to break off the engagement and find someone better for Jungkook."
Minho hesitated, unsure of what to do. But Grandpa Jeon's words struck a chord. He had noticed Hewoon's manipulative behavior too, but he had brushed it off as mere jealousy. Now, he wasn't so sure.
"Dad, I don't know...I thought we had already settled this," Minho said, his voice laced with uncertainty.
Grandpa Jeon's tone turned firm. "Minho, listen to me. I know you think you're doing what's best for Jungkook, but trust me, I know what's best for my grandson. And Hewoon is not it. She's using Jungkook for her own gain, and I won't stand for it."
Minho sighed, knowing his dad was not going to back down. "Okay, Dad. I'll think about it."
Grandpa Jeon nodded, satisfied. "Good. And there's something else. I've found a suitable match for Yoongi. His name is Kim Jimin, a 22-year-old art student. He's a nice boy, and I think they'd make a great couple. Think about it, Minho."
Minho's eyes widened in surprise, but he didn't say anything. He knew that Grandpa Jeon was old-fashioned and traditional, but he also knew that he wanted the best for his grandsons.
"Dad, I...I don't know what to say," Minho stuttered.
Grandpa Jeon laughed. "Say you'll think about it, Minho. That's all I ask."
Minho nodded, even though his dad couldn't see him. "I'll think about it, Dad."
Grandpa Jeon's voice turned serious. "Good. I expect to hear from you soon, Minho. And remember, I'm watching out for my grandsons' best interests. Even if it means going against your decisions."
