Arc 2.4 Chen Wei

Chen Wei watch the peaceful sleeping face of A'Ming lying on the hospital bed.

Everything still looks so surreal, it was as if he was dreaming and all of this going to the past was a dream.

But when he hugged and touch him he knew that it was not a dream.

Chen Wei forgot how he left Wang Lei's house and took A'Ming away on a stolen spaceship, all he was thinking was how to cure the insect.

Chen Wei could still remembered how shock and surprised the female insect who saw him carry A'Ming in the emergency room, they were so scared when they saw him that they even forgot to respond to him.

Finally in the end, under the weird gazes of everyone he was able to admit A'Ming in a private ward.

When the doctor came to him, he looked at Chen Wei nonchalantly and told him that A'Ming was suffering from varying degrees of injuries but it was not life threatening for a female insect and he would heal directly after being admitted for three days and they could leave.

What he just need to look out for is his malnutrition.

Since A'Ming came from the garbage star where there is no enough to eat, Chen Wei understands where the doctor was coming from but thinking that he live in the Capital for more than a few months and he was still suffering from malnutrition, Chen Wei knew that he was not eating right.

Thinking of this, Chen Wei felt even more guilty.

He thought that he had given his friend, his saviour a good life after he brought him to the Capital but he only brought him more suffering than ever before than when he lived in the garbage star.

He could not believe just how much of an idiot he is and how much he was no different from the male insects who was arrogant and unfeeling, he is trash.

Chen Wei look at A'Ming who look so defenseless while sleeping.

This mute who is also an idiot really does not know how to ask him for help when he is suffering so much injustice.

If he only reached out to him, he would have definitely given him his hand.

Chen Wei thoughts so.

Then he remembered that, the day before, he saw A'Ming wondering outside his house but then left quickly as he came.

He thought that he had just passed by the area and did not come for him so he did not think much of it.

But thinking about it now, maybe A'Ming was there to ask him for help.

But maybe because he does not want to bother him with his problems he left without even saying his grievances. 

What an idiot.

'If I was not reborn, would you have really suffered in silence and die pitifully in the end without me knowing how much you have suffered? A'Ming, ah. I said that I would give you a good life but in the end it resulted with your death. I'm a bastard. Thankfully, I was able to come back again. This time, its my turn to protect you.'

In Chen Wei's mind, he saw the tall and straight back of a female insect who bravely stood in front of him to defend him against a savage star beast.

His dependable and strong back was deeply ingrained in his young mind, the back of the person he would never forget in his life.

A smile could not help but bloom on his face like a child who had finally gained his favourite toy.

"Hmm..."

Chen Wei look at the insect on the bed slowly waking up with bated breathe, his eyes stared at him without blinking not wanting to miss the moment he opened his eyes.

"Ah? AH!"

A'Ming who opened his eyes immediately saw Chen Wei's face who was sitting beside him, he looked at him in surprise.

"A'Ming, your finally awake. Are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere? Do you want to drink water?"

Chen Wei did not know what to do and fidgeted on the spot.

He stared at A'Ming with big wide open eyes which in turn made the female insect think that he was looking at a stunned cat and could  not help but laugh.

Chen Wei look at A'Ming and he also laughed.

He is glad that his smile never left him.

"A'Ming, do you want to sit up?"

Chen Wei looked at A'Ming who stop laughing but still had a faint smile on his lips nodded.

Getting his permission, Chen Wei help A'Ming sit up and also help him drink a few sips of water.

But after this, there was a field of silence between the two of them.

Other than A'Ming can't speak because he is mute, Chen Wei does not know what to say to him.

Should he say he is glad to see him or he is sorry because he was the indirect cause of his sufferings.

Chen Wei was almost eaten up by his own guilt but then he felt a warm touch on his hand.

He looked up and saw A'Ming looking at him with that same smile that he used to look at him when they were at the garbage planet.

It was this smile that made him want to live each day on that planet not knowing what day he would die of danger or hunger.

Seeing that smile again, Chen Wei's heart was filled with both sadness and guilt.

"Ah?!"

He hug A'Ming tightly in his embrace.

"A'Ming, I'm sorry. I don't deserve to be forgiven. It was me who caused your sufferings indirectly. If I did not let you marry that bastard, you would have not need to suffer and endure humiliation. It was me, it was all my fault. I hurt you badly. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."

Chen Wei hug A'Ming so tightly as if by doing so could confirm his existence that he was still alive and breathing and not that cold body that was lying lifeless on the bed.

A'Ming felt something cold on his shoulder and was speechless.

He look at the little male who was hugging him and sighed.

A'Ming pat his back soothingly as if he was saying everything is alright which only made Chen Wei hug him even more tightly.

"Hm."

A'Ming continued to pat Chen Wei's back soothingly waiting for the little male to calm down thinking that he is more important than him who had suffered because even without him such is the life of the female insects.

He is just luckier than others that he have the little male thinking of him.

Feeling A'Ming's caress, Chen Wei finally collected himself but still kept on hugging the female insect.

"A'Ming, don't worry. From now on, I will take care of you. No one will bully you anymore."
