College has ended.
Right after an unforgettable graduation ceremony, A rambunctious group of young adults were the first to leave the building. Two brown-centered twins (boy and girl), a red-headed nurse, a new athlete, a tall nerd, and a mysterious blue haired girl with a mask all left the building giggling.
"Holy crap that was funny!! I wasn't expecting the preacher's daughter to be caught sucking the professor's dick on the big screen!" The athlete cried. "On God!" The Kitsune masked twin added on. "Now I knew that bitch was trouble. No one acts all that cutesy without a dark side." The other twin said.
"Oh there was something dark alright, and she was having a lot of fun with it too." The nerdy one hinted. The whole group in its entirety bursted into loud laughter as everyone else within the building began to exit.
"Say, Gacha, your dad still willing to let us stay in his mansion for the summer?" The masked twin addressed the athlete. The group began to walk down the rest of the stairs. "Of course he is. We have multiple houses anyway so there's no point in saying no to this one." Gacha answered.
"Spoiled rich boy problems go crazy don't they?" The unmasked twin. "Come on Serenity, if you don't chase that paper, what're you here for?" Gacha joked. "Couldn't agree more friend, couldn't agree more." The nerd nodded with a grin.
The group came to a stop down the stairs towards the big red truck that waited for them. "You guys ready for the summer of your lives?!" Gacha hyped. "YEAH!" The rest of the group shouted. "Then let's hop in this bitch!" Gacha said as he entered the driver's seat.
"I call shotgun!" The nerdy looking African American individual exclaimed as he quickly pushed past the masked twin and entered the front seat. "Okay damn Zakariyya! It's not that serious." The twin shot him an aggravated glare.
"Sorry Atlas!" Zakariyya apologized inside the vehicle. The rest of the gang hopped into the back of the truck. "Next stop, Atlas and Serenity's house! Time to get your dogs." Gacha announced, dubbing the names of the twins.
With a rally of excitement and good summer music to kickstart the ride, they went their way towards the house.
2 hours later.
"You motherfuckers owe me some gas money." Gacha said with a blank face and mean tone. "Hey, you knew what you were getting into. How could you not expect all of us to ask for you to take us to our houses so we could grab our stuff? Make it make sense." The blue haired woman remarked.
"Besides, look at these cute little faces." Atlas smiled as he patted both of his and Serenity's two German shepherds. One brown, one white. "I can't exactly look right now, since I'm deadass DRIVING on the road right now!" Gacha reminded. "Gacha... did you take your meds today?" The red-head asked.
A silence befell upon the group. "...No Carmilla, I didn't..." Gacha admitted. "That explains a lot." Serenity added impulsively. Soon after, the truck's radio began to diverge from the music into an emergency announcement.
"Breaking News: People who were originally recorded as 'dead' have started to come alive and attack society's individuals. This is what the internet now deems; The start to a zombie-wait... who let that thing in here?! NOOOAAUUGGH-"
And just like that, the radio cut off. No one dared to talk for the next few minutes. The very idea of a zombie apocalypse happening as soon as the summer started seemed far too surreal to them. "So... we're really not going to the beach next week huh?" Zakariyya broke the silence.
Everyone looked dead at him, even Gacha. "No, Zak. No we are not." Serenity said blankly. "Ianessa, we're not gonna die right?" Carmilla asked the blue haired girl with worry. "Of course not. Me and Atlas watch a lot of zombie movies, so if anyone knows how to survive this shit, it's us." She responded.
"Well... I'm glad we got our weapons and things out before the disaster hit us." Atlas assured. As if on cue, the German shepherds barked at him like he forgot something. "Yes, including you two Snowball and Rain." Atlas scratched their chins.
"I just hope we're getting close to the house..." Serenity sighed. "Speaking of which, it looks like we're here." Gacha voiced. A few meters away and less, Gacha's mansion could be seen on the horizon. However, something else was on the drive way.
"Wow, I didn't know you had to cars dude. It looks like a black Porsche GT3." Zakariyya exclaimed. "...That's not my car." Gacha said ominously. "Oh... so I'm assuming those aren't your butlers either?" Zakariyya pointed at the door to the house.
There seemed to be a trio there. A man, a teenaged guy, and a little boy. "Definitely not butlers." Gacha gritted his teeth. "God damnit, the apocalypse just started and people are already starting to rob shit." Atlas spat.
Gacha pulled up right behind the Porsche in his driveway, alerting the group of 3. Gacha was the first to get out of his truck, followed by everybody else. The man at the door began to walk towards the group. "Hey, excuse me. Is this your house?" The man asked.
"Yeah. It's mine. Who are you though?" Gacha asked, but was not met with an answer. In a second, the man had a gun to Gacha's head in point blank range. "Gacha!!" Zakariyya shouted. "Oh shit." Serenity cursed. "Fuck." Atlas swore.
"Wait... what are you doing-" "Shut up and give us the keys to the house. You do that, I'll let you go." The man cut Gacha off with a deal. Gacha's face distorted into that of pure disgust and anger. "Is this what we're resorting to now? Stealing from other people?!" Gacha spat.
"JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP AND GIVE ME THE KE-" While yelling, Gacha slapped the gun away from the man's hands, and instantly began to wrestle him to the ground. As the gun fell to the floor, it fired with a loud BANG.
"G-guys please, don't fight-" Carmilla tried to calm the situation down. Instead, Zakariyya and Atlas joined in. Same for the dogs. The dogs began to bit on the man's legs and the boys continued to stomp the man out on the curb.
While busy with that, Serenity grabbed the gun and locked it into safety mode, storing it in her pocket. All the kids could do was watch in horror as their father got beaten to a bloody pulp. However, it was short lived.
From afar, a horde of undead could be seen walking down the street near the area. Some of them were much faster and/or bigger than the rest. What's worse, a few of them were headed towards the house. "Damnit! Gunshot must've attracted them." Serenity gritted her teeth.
Ianessa pulled the boys off of the man, who was already on the verge of death. "Guys, now is NOT the time to catch another homicide charge. We need to go inside, NOW." Ianessa urged. With a quick nod, Gacha ran and unlocked the door. Atlas simply sighed and called the dogs off of the man. Their jaws dripped with blood.
"Everyone come inside! Quick!" Gacha rushed. The kids and Carmilla rushed the man's body inside while the rest of the group got their stuff out of the car, immediately rushing into the house afterwards. With a clean door slam, Gacha locked the door right before the zombies could get in.
"Damn... that was a close one." Zakariyya exhaled. "Yeah. Too close." Atlas added. Everyone began to look around the house's interior as a few of the zombies scratched and groaned at the front door. "This place is neat and sturdy, but it could be better... we should fortify this house, ASAP." Ianessa suggested.
"Sounds good to me babe." Atlas nodded. "I'm down." Zakariyya nodded. "Can't agree more." Gacha crossed his arms. "Yeah but... what about them?" Serenity looked at the unconscious man and his kids. "They stay with us until Carmilla fully patches him up." Ianessa decided.
"Wait, what? Even after what the guy pulled on us?" Atlas asked confused. "We're not monsters. He still has kids to take care of. If desperate, we all would have done the same." Ianessa spoke. The room fell silent.
"I... don't mind helping. I feel bad in a way." Carmilla looked down in shame. "You didn't stomp him out. It's okay... just go easy on yourself alright?" Gacha assured. "L Rizz. I'm better." Serenity clouted. "Now is NOT the time Serenity." Gacha glared.
"Alright enough glazing everyone. Let's get to work on this house." Ianessa urged. "Right. I have supplies in the basement." Gacha directed.
From there on, their work had begun on fortifying the house from the ground up.
