Author's pov..
Minho stretched lazily, his mind still lingering on the serene morning he'd shared with Jisung. As he stood up and glanced at his watch, he knew it was time to meet with his gang. The rendezvous was set in a dimly lit backroom of their usual haunt, a seemingly innocuous coffee shop with a secret entrance leading to their meeting space.
He arrived to find the usual crew already gathered. Seungmin was sprawled on a couch, scrolling through his phone, while Chan and Changbin were engaged in a playful arm-wrestling match. Jeongin sat at the table, tinkering with a small electronic device, a focused expression on his face.
"Morning, sunshine," Chan greeted, releasing Changbin's hand and turning his attention to Minho. "Did you sleep well, or were you too busy dreaming about your 'other half'?"
Minho smirked, taking a seat at the head of the table. "Jealous, are we, Chan? Don't worry, you'll find someone who can tolerate you eventually."
Changbin chuckled, shaking his head. "So, what's the agenda for today? I assume we're not here just to discuss Minho's love life."
Minho's expression turned serious, though the camaraderie remained. "We've got some intel about a new move from our friends across town. They're making waves, and it's only a matter of time before it reaches our shores."
Seungmin looked up from his phone, eyebrows raised. "You mean the uptight bunch from the east side? What are they up to now?"
Jeongin put down his gadget, leaning in with interest. "Yeah, spill the beans, Minho. We need to know what we're up against."
Minho leaned back, folding his arms. "They've been expanding their operations, moving into territories they shouldn't be touching. Our informant says they're planning something big, but details are scarce. We need to be on high alert and gather more information."
Chan tapped his fingers on the table, a thoughtful look on his face. "Do we have any leads on their next move? Or are we shooting in the dark here?"
"Somewhat in the dark," Minho admitted. "But I have a feeling we'll find some light soon enough. Our usual channels should provide us with more specifics within a few days."
Changbin grinned, flexing his muscles. "In the meantime, should we prep for a little 'greeting' if they get too close?"
Minho laughed, shaking his head. "Always eager for action, aren't you? Let's not jump the gun. We'll handle this smartly, no need for unnecessary risks."
Seungmin stretched, yawning. "Sounds like a plan. But if they do make a move, I wouldn't mind a bit of excitement. Things have been too quiet lately."
The meeting continued with more strategic discussions, peppered with their usual banter. Despite the seriousness of the topic, the mood remained light, each member confident in their roles and their leader's guidance.
As the meeting wrapped up, Minho stood, signaling the end of their discussion. "Stay sharp, everyone. We'll regroup when we have more intel."
The gang dispersed, each heading off to their respective tasks. Minho lingered for a moment, his mind still turning over the details of their conversation. He knew they needed to stay vigilant.
Meanwhile, outside the coffee shop, Felix was standing on the sidewalk, checking his phone. He had texted Hyunjin earlier, and now he saw the familiar figure approaching.
Hyunjin smiled as he reached Felix, his expression softening. "Hey, sorry I'm late."
Felix waved it off, grinning. "No worries. I was just enjoying the fresh air."
They started walking together, their steps falling into an easy rhythm. Felix glanced sideways at Hyunjin, a mischievous glint in his eye. "So, how's it going? Surviving all the chaos?"
Hyunjin chuckled, shaking his head. "Barely. But seeing you makes it a bit easier."
Felix laughed, the sound bright and infectious. "Glad to be of service."
They continued their walk, the conversation flowing effortlessly. There was an undeniable ease between them, a comfort that spoke volumes. They didn't need to say much; their connection was clear in the way they moved together, the shared glances and subtle touches.
As they passed by a small park, Hyunjin stopped and turned to face Felix. "I've been thinking about us, you know."
Felix's smile softened, a hint of seriousness in his eyes. "Yeah? And what have you concluded?"
Hyunjin reached out, lightly brushing Felix's hand with his own. "That I want to spend more time with you. Whatever this is, it feels right."
Felix's heart skipped a beat, but he kept his tone light. "Well, that's a relief. I was starting to think you just enjoyed my company for my stellar jokes."
Hyunjin laughed, shaking his head. "That too, Felix. That too."
They resumed their walk, the evening air wrapping around them like a promise. Neither of them said it out loud, but they both knew they were on the brink of something special, something worth exploring.
As the night settled in, they continued their journey together, unaware of the challenges that lay ahead, but ready to face them side by side.
