COAST WOKE UP with a start, having had another tiny nightmare. She glanced at Sam and saw he was still asleep peacefully. The girl wanted to do something sweet so she carefully got out of the bed and walked down the stairs towards the kitchen.
Kordell and Kendall were leaning against the island talking about Kordell's brother. She stayed silent as she pulled out ingredients to make homemade white shell pasta. It was one of her favorites that her father made.
The boys finally noticed her presence when they heard the sound of boiling water. Seeing her stood at the fridge made them both jump, they were so wrapped up in their conversation that they didn't notice her.
"Jesus woman!" Kendall also scared the shit out of Coast, as she jumped and hit her head on the shelf.
"Ow! What the hell Kendall? Did you guys really not notice me?" She stood up with a dumbfounded look on her face as she scrunched her nose in pain while holding the back of her head.
Kordell was trying not to laugh as he slowly snuck away to go find Serena. Kendall had a sheepish smile on his face, "I'm so sorry Coast. You were just so quiet neither of us saw you and it scared the hell out of me."
Coast just shook her head and continued making the food. As she was pouring the milk she felt a pair of strong arms wrap around her waist from behind. Coast initially flinched but then relaxed as she finally breathed in the scent of Sam's cologne, ocean whisps.
"I'm sorry darling, didn't mean to startle you." Sam loosened his hold as he kissed her cheek, making sure she was comfortable.
Coast laughed, "You were supposed to stay sleeping until Lunch was ready."
Realizing she relaxed he buried his face into the crook of her neck making his words sound muffled, "Well it's hard to stay asleep without my little koala to keep me warm."
"Oh is that a new thing? I'm a koala?" Coast stirred in the cheese mixture and turned off the heat. Allowing the noodles to thicken as she turned around in the boys arms.
"Yes, my very cute, very cuddly, very holdable, very sleepy koala." The two still stood in an embrace.
"Okay, if I'm a koala then. You wouldn't mind me doing this then?" She smirked as she softly jumped up and wrapped her legs around his waist and clung to him as a koala would.
"No, in fact I'll carry you around like this wherever and whenever you want me to." Sam held onto the girl tighter and supported underneath her thighs.
"Aww, you'll be my eucalyptus tree?" Coast laughed very hard at her own joke.
Sam thought it was very adorable, "Yes, I'll be your eucalyptus tree any day." However he couldn't pronounce eucalyptus correctly if his life depended on it. Coast laughed as she jumped down and checked the food. It was ready.
