I have lived my whole life in the UK but when my father went off to war and my mother was too nervous for me to be around the city that we lived in it was time for us to move away to be safe but I didn't realize that place was going to be in the middle of nowhere.

"Mum, do we have to go?"I asked my mother as we were sitting on a bench in the train station waiting for our train to arrive to take us to Avonlea.

the day before I had to say goodbye to all of my friends and people who I called family and my actual family like my aunt and uncle who were two of my favorite people in the world and also their daughter and my best friend and cousin.

"yes sweat heart I don't want you getting hurt here it's dangerous." she said and I sighed rolling my eyes."do not roll your eyes at anyone young lady it is very rude," she said her British accent seeping through I had a strong one though to the point where some Americans that visited and moved here and moved into our schools hardly knew what I was saying half the time I also said very big words half the time I was very smart.

"yes, I'm sorry Mother" my accent was strong as I sighed and looked down at my hands that were fidgeting in my lap.

the train horn blew making us realize it had stopped in front of us during our fight.

my mother helped me onto the train seeing as I was very small and petite.

we sat down across from each other so no one would sit In front of us or next to us. that one thing me and my mother have in common we both hate people but it was for a reason we were both very feisty people even though we were small.

I took out my book I had packed and noticed some teenage boys walking onto the train with their parents and I sighed knowing one of them was going to come up to me and then it would be a whole debacle.

you see I was very pretty, I had been told that my entire life but didn't believe it myself I had brunette hair and green-bluish eyes but my hair was very curly and hard to contain so I hated it but everyone was always jealous of it.

they sat on the other side of the corridor of the train cart we were in and were looking at me the whole time as all of their parents discussed something but kept looking over at me and my mother also.

I continued with my book knowing this was going to be a long train ride.

I felt myself drift off so I snuggled into the corner of the booth I was sitting in and leaned my head on the window looking out onto the fields of grass as my eyes fluttered close.

I woke up to the train stopping and the boys and their parents getting off which I was thankful for because their parents and themselves were very loud." finally I thought we would never get peace." my mother said glaring at where they were seated and I smiled at her and she smiled back down at me.

I took out my book again." the next stop should be Avonlea so we don't have long now." she said and I nodded as I continued with my book.

It had been at least an hour and the train had come to a stop the announcer came into the corridor." Avonlea train station." he said, me and my mother collected ourselves and our stuff.

we made It off the train my mother helping me and we looked around the small but bustling train station.

I saw a boy getting on the train after us, he had dark brown curls on top of his head and a hat slightly covering them but they came right across his forehead so you could see them clearly, he had hazel eyes which I had admired for the few seconds we locked eyes but my mother pulled me away and to a man at the desk next to the ticket desk.

"hello we need one carriage please," she said and the man nodded walking to the back of the building to where they kept the horses and the carriages and we followed.

he handed my mother the horses rains and she smiled handing him some money to thank him.

"she's yours if you want." the man said looking at the horse who looked majestical to me like something out of a fairytale.

"thank you very much the land we are buying has a stable so we will take you up on that." she added a few extra dollars to the money and thanked him again as I walked to the front of the horse with black wavy hair and looked at her face smiling." she looks like her name would wish, "I told my mother as she carefully climbed onto the carriage.

I made my way to the other side and she held her hand out for me to grab which I took and hoisted myself up and onto the carriage slightly proud of myself that I did it.

my mother made clicking sounds that made Wish start trotting as my mother led her where to go."do you even know where we are going, Mother."I asked and she nodded.

"yes earlier this year you and your father were looking at places to move in the future but since he got put into the war we decided it would be good to move earlier," she said and my mouth dropped.

"so are we never going back," I said my accent coming through as there were tears in my eyes.

"we will go and visit from time to time but other than that you should start calling Avonlea your new home," she said and I sighed looked forward but being slightly amazed at the countryside all I had ever seen before was just cityscapes but this was beautiful, no magnificent.

"I guess I could get used to it as long as I learn how to ride Wish."I looked and her and she laughed but sighed knowing this was the least she could do for just packing up all our stuff and making me leave my friends.

"yes you can learn and you don't have to ride a side saddle I will let you ride normally," she said and I let out a yelp of excitement.

"Mother there are no words to explain the happiness I feel right now," I said and she laughed but nodded.

"I know I just wish your father was here." she sighed and looked forward and I hugged her from the side and she returned the hug slightly, still trying to lead wish where to go.
