Walking the destroyed streets of New York City, I wanted nothing more than to run home to my mom and Paul in our apartment. I wanted to take Juliet and go home, but I couldn't.
Two days earlier, Percy divided the campers and hunters to different city locations. Malcom took the Athena cabin to the 59th street bridge, except for Juliet. She stayed with Will and a few other campers to help the injured. I joined my brother as reinforcements to bribe the river gods into assistance with the war. Walking back, I put my watch near my mouth and talk into it.
"Heading back now, Eagle Eyes. Over."
"Alrighty, Lots, how was it? Over." Juliet responds over her watch.
"Fine, though I wish I could get into the action a bit. Kill some monsters, kill Kronos." I answer with a chuckle.
"If only it was that easy. Although, you give me a sword and play some ABBA I bet I could kill Kronos."
"Oh yeah, totally. Voules Vous the titan lord into Tartarus."
"How far out are you? Over."
"I'm not sure, I'll hustle, but- wait there's a huge army at the bridge!" I yelled over the intercom.
we were met with a monster army at the Williamsburg bridge. The mass of monsters was lead by The Minotaur. The same Minotaur whose horn hung on our cabin wall back at camp. I could hear Juliet trying to talk to me over the watch, but she was met with silence. It was a strenuous battle, I was laser focused at not getting killed. Swinging my sword every which way. I heard screams, but i was too focused to see what happened. I couldn't let myself get distracted.Suddenly, everything slows. I feel a stinging pain. Everything has gone quiet. I look down to see the point of a sword coming through the left of my stomach. I didn't have time to scream before a boot met my back, throwing me to the ground with the dust of dead monsters. I reached a hand out toward the river, but as I did the whole river seemed to move away from me. instead it was swung over the bridge. Destroying it. All I could see was Percy stood front and center creating the mass destruction tilde wave. Annabeth was nowhere to be seen. As the wave ends, I can barely hold my eyes open. I realize I can still hear Juliet's voice over my watch. I hold it close to my ear. I can't answer, but I can listen.
"I'm almost there! Please don't die on me, Lots!"
I close my eyes. They hurt to much to keep open. Juliet's on her way, though. She can help me, I know it. She used to spend hours studying medical textbooks for this exact scenario. Funny, I used to tell her I was "too cool to get stabbed" so her studies were "pointless", and yes I always said pointless, though she never got the joke.I hear a scream. A blood curtailing scream. Someone, Juliet, screaming. A slew of No's, pleas, and my name. Juliet doesn't pull the sword out of me. She knows it will cause to much bleeding. I can't open my eyes. I hear her calling someone. Will. She was prepping an emergency area for me, telling Will to be ready with his child of Apollo healing powers for my wound. I heard flapping overhead. Percy's Horse, Blackjack. I could hear her speak to me.
"I'll take you to Will as fast as i can, don't die."
At that I let out the faintest chuckle. Juliet almost jumped out of joy."I KNEW YOU WERE OK! I KNEW IT!" she yelled as she loaded me onto blackjack. I could barely open my eyes, when I finally got enough strength to do so I looked Juliet in the eye and whispered, "I guess I wasn't too cool to be stabbed."
