The soft click of the door latch went unnoticed as Mia slipped into Jungkook's office. He was engrossed in a stack of files, his brow furrowed in concentration. She moved silently across the room, her presence only registering when she was already close.Jungkook's head snapped up, his eyes widening in surprise. "Mia, what are you doing here?"
His gaze shifted to the lunch box in her hand. He sighed deeply, his shoulders sagging. "I don't want to eat right now. You should go back and stop making efforts."
Mia's eyes softened, and she shook her head gently. "I know I love you one-sidedly, but you should know that one-sided love can move mountains."
Jungkook scoffed, his expression hardening. "I don't know what this bloody love is, so it's useless to talk about love in front of me."
Saying this, he turned back to his files and started working again. Mia remained undeterred. "Jungkook, you can't just ignore this forever. It's not going to go away just because you pretend it doesn't exist."He didn't look up. "I'm not ignoring anything. I'm choosing to focus on what's important." "And what about your own happiness? Don't you deserve that?"
Jungkook's pen stilled, and he looked at her with an unreadable expression. "My happiness isn't tied to anyone else, Mia. Especially not to something as frivolous as love." "Frivolous?"
Mia echoed, her voice rising slightly. "Is that what you think love is?" Jungkook leaned back in his chair, his gaze icy."Love complicates things. It makes people weak and vulnerable. I can't afford that."
"But it also makes people strong," Mia countered. "It gives them a reason to fight, to endure. You can't tell me you don't feel anything."He sighed, rubbing his temples. "What I feel or don't feel is irrelevant. My work is what matters."
Mia moved closer, her voice softening. "Jungkook, I'm not asking you to reciprocate my feelings. I'm just asking you to acknowledge them. To see that there's someone who cares about you deeply."He looked away, trying to keep himself calm and not to burst out on her, "Mia, you should go back to your home ."
Mia chuckled, "Which home Jungkook?? I don't have any home yet but I wanna make one with you. A home with my love, with you Jungkook..Give me a chance, make me yours. I will never give you a reason to complain. Love is the most beautiful thing in the world."
"Believe me, once you fall in love, you will never regret it. I want you to love me, Jungkook."
Mia, undeterred, moved closer and, with a boldness she had never shown before, settled herself on his lap, her fingers brushing against his cheeks."I want to be the sole owner of your love , Jungkook."
Jungkook's eyes widened in shock, and his patience finally snapped. "Get off," he muttered, his voice low and dangerous.
"Never", she said holding him by nape and was about to kiss him.He roughly threw her off his lap, causing her to stumble.
Mia landed awkwardly, her eyes filling with tears. "I love you, Jungkook. I know you would love me too," she said, her voice trembling with emotion.
He grabbed her by the arm, his grip tight and unyielding. "Love? I will never love anyone. Jeon Jungkook will never believe in two things throughout his life: love and God. So stop behaving like a child, Mia. I am tolerating you just because your father gave me a roof when I was homeless, otherwise, I wouldn't even like to see your face."
With a harsh shove, he threw her away again.
"Jungkook, what more do I need to do? I can fulfill every desire you have. My body is flawless, there's nothing lacking in me. I can satisfy you completely, don't you see? You're a man, aren't you? What's holding you back? "
