"I told you these spring rolls are out of this world!" Riki continued to eat with his mouth full. "Mhm, wait! Here, I brought you coke too." He pulled a can of coke out of his black hoodie that he was wearing on top of the school dress.
I stopped chewing as I gazed at the can he placed on the bench in disbelief. Oh lord, he literally organized a mini feast for me in the library. I gobbled up everything at once and took a few sips from the coke.
I came here to study and now I've joined Riki's movement to make library a place where you can eat your heart out.
"You know, Miso?" Riki started and grabbed the coke. He casually drank it while I struggled to keep my eyeballs inside.
We just shared our coke! That's again an indirect kiss--
"What?" He shrugged when he met with my surprised eyes. I quickly shook my head and looked away.
"You're such a messy eater." He chuckled before grabbing my chin. I looked up at him and found myself getting lost in his eyes. But when his warm fingers came in touch with my cold cheeks to wipe them, I snapped back to reality.
"Hehe, I can do it myself." I laughed nervously, and roamed my trembling hands around my face to clean it.
"You're making yourself even dirtier." He sighed and cupped my face, making my breath hitch. His hand softly rubbed itself around my face as I felt a whole damn zoo dancing in my stomach.
Is it not obvious enough how I melt in his touch? Is it not obvious enough for him that I like him? Everyone gets it except him.
"Miso..." He interrupted my thoughts. "I, I want to kiss you again." He murmured with his gaze fixed on my lips. I felt his hand move towards my lips as he began to rub his thumb over them.
N-no. I need to snap out of it, this isn't... just right, no. I quickly pushed him away and stood up to leave while shaking my head multiple times.
I was only able to take a few steps when he held my hand gently from behind and turned me to face him. His hand gripped my waist as he leaned in before closing his eyes. I felt his soft pair of lips on top of mine in a few seconds and just like the last time I stood frozen.
"I like you, Ahn Miso. I like you so much." The words left his mouth in a whisper between the kiss. His words stole the remaining air out of my lungs, I wasn't even sure if I heard them right but something about the sound of those words was so peaceful that they made my eyes close in relief.
And without any other questions growing inside of me, I began to kiss him too. I could feel him release a shaky breath of relief too as he continued to caress every single detail of my lips. I also embraced him to the fullest, without a care.
Soon we both pulled away as he rested his forehead on mine. He was breathing heavily, making his warm breath brush over my lips. "I like you. I like you, Ahn Miso." He said the words again, this time so clearly, like he was uttering every single word straight out of his chest. And I knew that I heard everything right.
I had so many questions running inside my head but I listened to my heart. The way my heart pounded made me feel at ease for the first time ever.
And that way, I finally found the courage to say the same words I had held back for four years.
"I like you, too, Nishimura Riki." I whispered back, without stuttering or fearing anything for once.
"I know." he tightened his grip around my waist as he pulled me closer. He closed his eyes again.
He knows? How? Since when? Then why didn't he tell me before?
The way he kept quiet was killing me from inside but he looked so calm with everything.
"Last time... I kissed you because I knew you liked me." His eyes opened, meeting with mine. "I thought you'd feel butterflies but instead you slapped me and didn't talk to me for 4 freaking days! You're one complicated and extremely unpredictable lady!" He complained like a kid.
"I'm not complicated, I'm a simple girl! You should've asked for my permission first!" I grumbled back.
"Whatever. But thanks, I guess? If it wasn't for you not talking to me, I'd have never realized that you're the girl I love." He suddenly pecked my cheeks as I gasped. "You look so cute when you blush." He chuckled.
"I'm not blushing! And, uh... you don't like Yena?" I hesitated to ask, what if he responds and says that he does?
"No, she was just a silly crush. I love you and I know that it's genuine. I hope you believe me and I'm sorry for not liking you before."
"Why... do you even like me?" I really want to know.
"They're are so many little things that I can tell you, I love you for every little reason." He smiled, "I like you for your eyes, and how they shine everytime we're together. I like you for the sound of your laughter, and how it echoes in my ears whenever I'm with you. I like you for the way you're always there to lend me your shoulders, I like you for the warm hugs that you give me."
He paused and slowly tucked a lose strand of hair behind my ears, "but I think, I like you the most because you're you. Nishimura Riki likes you because you're Ahn Miso."
-
I looked beside me, feeling relieved to have the boy I've loved all for myself. I smiled softly and leaned my head on Riki's shoulder.
He also rested his head on mine before slowly kissing my forehead. "I love you..."
"I love you, too... three, four, five. I love you for infinity." I replied, causing him to laugh.
His laugh belongs to me, his shoulder belongs to me, his love belongs to me and most importantly, he himself belongs to me. And I'm more than just grateful for it.
