"Absorbed in mindless thoughts."

----

What were the Stolls even thinking? Goodness. At least Amethyst was unaware of Annabeth's fear.. The Stolls knew damn well!

Camp Half-Blood, the most peaceful place known to man.

I tapped rhythmically on the door of the Athena cabin, hoping for an insightful talk with the one and only.

"Unless you're one of my siblings or Luke with the coffee, LEAVE!" Yelled the welcoming voice of Annabeth.

"It's me, Piper, and I'm coming in regardless."

"Gods."

I walked in and sat down beside her on her bunk. She was staring blankly at the bookshelf in the cabin.

"I know you hate spiders, Annabeth. And yes, the Stolls were stupid for making you feel upset.. But you can't possibly be mad at them forever! That's just them, and Amethyst-" I was abruptly cut off by Annabeth.

"It's not that, Piper. It's just.. We literally only defeated Gaia. GAIA! The powerful Goddess of the Earth. Us, literal teenagers. 2 weeks ago. 2 WEEKS AGO. And now... We already have ANOTHER QUEST!" She sighed, sounding pretty much done with life.

"Look. We're all going through this, TOGETHER. As a team. We'll have some fun, I'm sure!" I smiled, trying to sound authentic, and without using charmspeak.

"I guess you're right. But I still need some peace and quiet. Also, the coffee. Please ask Luke to bring it for me like.. Now." Annabeth muttered.

I nodded, hopping off of her bunk and heading out,
"Will do!" I said, saluting her before I left.

That wasn't so bad!

I noticed Luke outside the cabin, holding the coffee awkwardly, I also noticed Hemera glaring at him every few seconds. Talk about relationship goals.

"Does she still want the coffee?" He asked, concerned.

"Yes. She wants it. NEEDS IT." I nodded.

"Okay, good." He smiled, then looked at me with awkwardness again.
"Do I happen to be very unappreciatively looked at by Hemera?"

"Also yes." I stifled a chuckle, trying not to make him more awkward than he already was.

"Great. She's going to keep a grudge now." Sighed Luke, shrugging and heading towards cabin 6 with the coffee. I had a feeling that shrug wasn't all-so nonchalant..

----

Me, and a few Aphrodite cabin members were picking up strawberries together. Since it was a two cabin activity, the Hermes cabin volunteered to join us. Sweet! No pun intended.

I was looking for the reddest one, when I saw Hemera, the Nyx cabin head counsellor. (The cabin had no other recipients besides her, so of course..), trying to shove a strawberry down Luke's throat. He looked traumatized.

I mentally noted it down in case I had a bad day with Jason.

I felt a gentle tap on my shoulder, a light blonde girl with pink streaks in her hair, who I recognized as Elaine Jace, a new camper, immediately.

"Why is there a little rainbow above my head?" She asked, blinking.

I looked above her head. Sure enough, a little rainbow. The symbol of Iris!

"You've been claimed, by Iris!" I smiled, I'd seen a lot of new campers come in these past two weeks and get claimed. But it was still such a new feeling.

"Let's get you to Chiron." I said, grabbing her hand, pushing away the crowd around us to get her to the big house.

----

"Well, you can grab your stuff from the Hermes cabin and move to the Iris cabin. I'll inform their head-counsellor." Said Chiron, tapping his hooves and going outside.

"Iris?" Elaine asked, looking quite puzzled.

"The goddess of Rainbows." I replied, studying her expression. It looked disappointed.

"Well, that's nice I guess..." She shrugged, downplaying her disappointment a lot.

I felt her. Except I wasn't hoping for a 'better' godly parent, I was hoping for peace.
